    Yep,
My memory fails me as to when the strong appeal of watching Cowboy games actually diminished.
Probably just a product of aging. Or because of all the losing my expectation levels were lowered.
    Or both.

Anyways, as I mentioned on another post, I enjoy some good entertainment whether music, movie or sports.

    So yeah,
the whole sports thing is pretty much entertainment to me at this stage in my life.

Message Boards can be quite entertaining as well, lol.

Nothing personal HC, it just that it’s going to take more than conspiracy theories, deleted tweets and rumors. If this were true, I’ll go back to an earlier statement I made that everyone involved with the NFL is complicit. That would make the NFL a racket of epic proportions.

I don't think it's rigged. I do think it is over-officiated to the point of ruination.

    :hammer:.....nothing to see here...right?

Sorry this is just one example the cabal is corrupt. The ref kept moving the ball just so Tom Brady would get a game sealing first down.

    Yep

And all of the new rules have further clouded the waters. The officiating has probably never been worse.

The best solution could be reviewing the judgmental flags.

The ridiculously bad calls aren't a conspiracy theory. You just dismiss them as incompetence or mistakes because you don't want to believe that it could be intentional. That's what is known as cognitive dissonance. When I see clear OPI like in Bucs game week 1 with a ref staring right at it and no call is made, I don't call that incompetence. I say that is intentional and is evidence of manipulating games. When I see Harrison Smith choke CeeDee on the sideline and no flag is thrown with the ref staring right at it and a camera man standing right in front of them I call that evidence of manipulating games.

That's the thing. None of you theorists ever provide any hard evidence. You see a bad call and create all sorts of stories about what could be behind it besides the simplest explanation of they just missed it. It's like you're endorsing that calls were statistically 100% correct for the first 5 decades of the league and now not 100% must equal something fishy because it's always been 100%. Not even stats like that are provided. Just haze.

Is it refs? Is it Goodell? Is it Mara? Is it a syndicate of other owners? Is it a government sympathizer? There's not even a cohesive story in the least. Just 100 droplets of spit launched in the hopes 1 lands someplace. Even then it wouldn't be because you were on to something, but lucky.

What did you see when the refs didn't call that facemask on Anthony Brown that probably would have won NE the game?

The calls were so bad it looked fixed on Thursday. If a game was fixed...which I'm sure a few have been in our time, all you need is a couple of bad refs.
You hate to believe it could ever happen but there's so much money involved we can't totally ignore the possibility either.
You lose like that you question it but we have no proof just suspicion and we move on, we tune in again next week on the edge of our seats.

Either way Thursday looked bad for the NFL

If the NFL keeps up the way they officiate games, then maybe this WILL happen. I would hate to see a federal agency regulate the NFL.
Stolen from an article linked below:

..... Congressman Cedric Richmond (D-La.) said in a statement. “The Saints should be on their way to Atlanta to play in the Super Bowl. Instead, they are left with the memory of officials who failed to create an equal playing field and deprived them of that opportunity. Officials should not have the ability to determine the fate of a team who rightfully earned their place in NFL championship history.”

“I have since spoken with colleagues on the Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee about inviting NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to answer some important questions about the unfair call against the Saints,” Richmond said, “a call that he has the jurisdiction to overturn. I stand with Saints owner Gayle Benson on the urgency and significance of having this issue addressed so that it does not happen again. The Saints got the short end of the stick, and I am proud to witness the strength of the franchise and the unswerving support of Who Dat Nation. I look forward to conveying these views to Mr. Goodell soon.”

While it would be easy to dismiss the statement as pandering to those who elected Richmond into office, it would be unwise to assume that every effort to compel Goodell to answer tough questions about how the NFL officiates games will automatically fail. As legalized gambling begins to proliferate, the NFL should be concerned that any given controversy could be the controversy that prompts Congress to conclude that the NFL isn’t capable of taking care of its own business — and that Congress should do it for the NFL.

More specifically, the league should fear the possible creation of a federal agency that would oversee the NFL, and possibly other pro sports. That’s the last thing the league would want, since it would remove from the league the exclusive authority to determine the league’s business, subject to the authority of no one.

Whenever that much money is involved, someone will have a thumb on the scale. That is just the way the world works.

Rigged? No. Outcomes steered? Yes. I do believe flags are called to keep games intentionally close so that viewers keep watching. Why do refs wear an ear piece connected to NY?

I don't think the NFL is rigged but there could be some bad refs...What evidence do you have that there's no game fixing? Your heart? Your love of the game or your football IQ?

You think because you just know deep down inside it makes it so?

The vagueness of the rules, the non-reviewable holding and interference calls is in place to control the game through officiating whether it's crooked or not the door is open for questions.
We should question everything, there's too much money and time involved. The lack of accountability for refs is high, we don't know how they're vetted
they don't answer to us after games, we don't know where they go, who they hang with, their banking transactions etc

The NFL is all over this right? I mean to protect their product they must be all over it right? They should provide the transparency

Did he grab it or graze it? If he grabbed it and they didn't call it then it falls into the manipulation I'm talking about

Number one, I'm not the one bringing up accusations so any burden of proof is not with me. Second, this really doesn't affect me all that much. It's a sport and I'm entertained by it. If it were rigged, I say just don't spoil the ending for me on who wins the Super Bowl so I can still be surprised. If you want to slip me some information so I can bet on it, great. I think some of y'all just over identify with supporting your team so much that any hint of not being a winner (a loser, to the layperson) and people have to go haywire proving it's not so to restore something within. People are far less upset with politicians outright lying to them than their sports teams and that mechanism works in much the same way to boot. Priorities?
