NFL Live: Cowboys Have High Interest In Simms...

Hey Guys, just got done watching NFL live from the other day and they said that the Cowboys are interested in Simms if he is cut. Is there any truth to this?

From what I have read that the Cowboys are comfortable with Brad Johnson but what they say and what they do are two different things.

Did anybody see this report from NFLLive?

Have not heard a thing.

But if the Cowboys are interested and Simms show interest, sweet.

The biggest obstacle is that Simms seems to have a big ego and I don't see him willing to be a No. 2 forever behind a Romo.
So I don't see that happening, though I would love it if it did.

Simms can think he's a #1 all he wants. Romo has shown more in his worst games (think Buffalo) than Simms in his best.

If he signs here, he knows he's just a injury backup. Even his ego wouldn't place him before TR.

I don't think Brad Johnson is compatible with our offense, and would like to see him replaced. Unfortunately, I don't think hes going anywhere because he has a contract. Since we are stuck, doubt we really are interested in Simms.

I'm still kinda amazed he is Phil's son, because he shows no attributes that his dad showed on the field, both in college at Texas and in the pro's. Something just isnt right upstairs with him. He's always had throwing ability, but he lacks something else. I dont think the light bulb is ever going on for him either.

I think Phil Simms would be a great upgrade over Babe Laufenberg!

I don't care if he thinks he's a #1... he'll soon learn to defer to Brad Sham.

Maybe we do need Simms, but not for the offense. Pick him up to re-build Roy Williams' confidence. Remember the UT-OU game where Roy flew over the line right as the ball was being snapped and sacked Simms? That was incredible.

I still think he should look at the Vikings or Bears once the Bucs can't find a trade partner by July 26 and let him go.

sure he did...he was great at it his first few seasons...he had a number of huge hits on QB's then...he had 6 1/2 sacks in those first 4yrs, and the bigger issue was we couldnt blitz him more

he's had none the last two seasons, and it doesnt seem as if he gets there or "comes clean" like he used to

If he is a liability in coverage you are less likely to blitz.

Honestly that wasn't hard.
