Flag football coming soon. They will be testing it this year.
The game will turn into a variation of the QB throwing competition at the Pro Bowl. Teams will get to send players to certain zones on the field, 1 receiver 1 defender per zone. No rush but the QB has 5 seconds to throw. "Linemen" will set up around the QB perimeter and get to try and bat the pass. Twenty yards instead of 10 for 1st down.

- Roy Williams horse tackle rule

- Jason Witten no helmet run rule

- Emmit Smith no take helmet off rule

- Erik Williams hand to face rule

Now , . Tony Pollard rule ?

NFL rule office patterned Cowboys so that rules are ready to be named after what happens in Cowboys games ?

I guess the rule would be that a defender CAN'T wrap their arms around the runner's bellybutton-area from behind.

Its more about kicking your legs out and going into the back of thier legs, is the intent to injur, no probably not.... can it be avoided, yes in most instances let your wieght fall forward and your feet drag to get the tackle...again its not even asking to do things as hard as a small hit box on a WR flying through the air.

Make the defender grab either below the hips or above the diaphragm when tackling from behind, and you'll cut down on the injuries..
But, I still think you're asking too much from a defender.
It's hard enough already to play defense....

I agree they have some rules that need to be looked at, like i said small hit boxes, touching QB's (ridiculous) but just like a chop block this is one that can be easily fixed. Basically your saying go forward with your tackle, thats easier than many things they are asking them to do now.

Hope they never consider it. Might as well abandon tackling, and hand out flags.

Probably more about Mahomes than Pollard. Lucky for them Mahomes is a freak, but if he was unable to play through the injury the NFL gets hurt by losing a poser child QB (not that Mahomes doesn’t deserve it). They are much more concerned about that than Pollard

I didn’t like the tackle when I saw it and thought it was definitely made to slow pollard down for the game. With the whiners trying to bully the cowboys pregame I wouldn’t put it past them to get right up to the line of trying to inflict pain to slow dallas down. I don’t think the intention was to break his leg but I wonder what board sentiment would be if it was Donovan Wilson tackling Debo in that manner.
