So was Romo’s dirty preseason injury against the Seahawks. These guys know EXACTLY what they’re doing when they do this.
Romo was stupid to try to run in a preseason game, these things are happening fast on the field, these guys aren't thinking "how can I injured him", they're just trying to get the guy down

I agree they have some rules that need to be looked at, like i said small hit boxes, touching QB's (ridiculous) but just like a chop block this is one that can be easily fixed. Basically your saying go forward with your tackle, thats easier than many things they are asking them to do now.
How the heck do you "go forward with your tackle when you're trying to catch the guy from behind and you're both running?
I don't know. Sounds like a very complicated concept. A horse collar is an easy one to avoid, but I'm not so sure this hip drop thing would be so easy to avoid or even to call except under some very clear cut circumstances.

i think Dak's injury tackle was something just like this tackle but from the side. its mainly when a guy trys and pull someone down from the hip
Can't hit the head, the knee and now the hip.......were can a guy get hit?

This would be like targeting in college. Stop the game and review the play and decide whether to eject the player. PS. Would be ungodly stupid and really slow down the game.

Flag football coming soon. They will be testing it this year.
They worry about all these players safety and injuries and then have them out there 95% of the time on ****** turf. Then they already added one pointless game and want to add another one. It'll be just another penalty the refs could use to change a game, it has zero to do with safety.

I don't see a problem with the tackle itself, but that ankle getting trapped under the defenders body is brutal. The only other thing a defender could do is try to grab the legs which is much harder in that situation.

Perhaps if the defender is deliberating trying to hurt the player by jumping on the back of the leg but that's tough to prove real time.

Get ready for 50+ flags a game. People will be screaming, wanting their money back. Don't do it.

Related. You can see why rugby leagues are so against this style of tackling due to it's high risk of injury.

Exactly, not sure what is so hard to understand about this...................for anybody still confused, try watching this video of this dude getting his leg snapped.

The defender grabs the upper body and immediately drops his weight on the back of the legs pinning the dude's leg as he gets knocked to the ground and snapping it.

If Rugby has outlawed this type of tackle, not sure why the experts here consider it a "flag football move".

- Roy Williams horse tackle rule

- Jason Witten no helmet run rule

- Emmit Smith no take helmet off rule

- Erik Williams hand to face rule

Now , . Tony Pollard rule ?

NFL rule office patterned Cowboys so that rules are ready to be named after what happens in Cowboys games ?
It was not Pollard getting his leg snapped that the league is worried about, the golden boy Mahhomes got tackled like this and almost had his ankle snapped.

That is why the league is looking to ban the tackle.

There is more to it. It's when someone grabs on to a ballcarrier from behind/side but also fling their body on to the legs of the ball carrier, thus breaking bones and tearing ligaments.

Dak Prescott injury

Tony Pollard injury

Allen Hurns injury

Can't dispute the discussion....it is a modified horse collar, without the horse collar. Player safety should always be paramount. But it isn't about the Pollard injury, more about the Mahomes (QB) injury. Either injury could have been worse, if the weight of the defender dropped higher....ala Joe Theismann injury. Just sayin'.

One more. Rule change. Because of some thing this franchise. Deals with. Roy Williams, horse grab. They should make a good thread. I think they’re at least a dozen rules strictly because of something happened through the franchise.

Lool, right.

And you dunces are convinced the 49er player tackled like this to purposefully injure him.
It is a known practice. But I don’t think it was on purpose in this particular incident. But make no mistake about it. It is a noon practice.

This will lead to a ton of flags, so many ways a legal tackle can become "the hip-drop" tackle.

Ya, remember when you told me to "Shut Up" when i said it was dirty in the game thread? Good times.

And ya, they were trying to hurt him. They even tried to hurt lamb later in the game. Check 29 seconds.

What are you failing to compute Kenneth?

The league making potential rule changes to reduce injuries does not equate to “that dirty dog did it intentionally to hurt Pollard.”

You tenderhearts keep motive mongering which is cousin to spouting off about conspiracy theories and all the same yahoos are chirping. Go figure.
