Not a horrible draft, it looks like we found a few solid role players, but not exactly one for the ages... especially considering we had 2 first round picks.

Definitely not as good as that Parcells draft where we got Barbie Carpenter, Anthony Fasano, and Skyler Green. Oh, wait...

Mosley must have to stick with the Scouts Inc. evaluation because he works at ESPN now. If he still worked at the DMN, he'd trust Gosselin's sources and realize that Jason Williams and Robert Brewster were third-round talents.

When it comes to draft rankings, Gosselin is FAR superior to Scouts Inc.

Gosselin just finished No. 1 AGAIN in the top-100 rankings (out of 52 different top-100 boards tracked by The Huddle Report).

Yep Gosselin is the best mock drafter there is, once again. But I'm not sure of the relevance. He seems to be the best when it comes to finding out when someone will be picked but is that that same as saying most any team would have been glad to land them where they were taken? If a player is drafted in the third round, does that automatically make them "third round talent"? I wonder...

What is Gosselin's post draft impression of the Cowboy's draft? Was he impressed?

What's it going to be then, eh?

With Ireland and Parcells gone, and Larry Lacewell now back watching player tapes, how can you be so sure?????

Did you see Miami's draft? It did not look so good either. I was a bit shocked by some of their choices as well. It was a lot like ours.

Unless it is a mock draft, I don't give much credence to Gosselin. He's not a talent evaluator, even to the rudimentary level that Kiper and Mayock are. Or even Weddle and Lombardi. He just reports consensus opinions. He has some good sources about where players are valued league-wide, but his specific opinion about how a player might do or fit are dubious at best. He is just another opinion in that mess.

When Gosselin talks about a player he's not giving his opinion, he's regurgitating what he heard from several NFL sources. That makes his "opinion" better than others.

He makes no bones with the fact that he's not an talent evaluator. He takes pride in the fact that he doesnt watch a minute of game tape, because as he says "Why should I when I can just talk to people who actually do it for a living and get their opinions". Besides, most of these guys dont really break down tape, they just regurgitate what they hear, they just dont have as good as sources as Goose.

Nope. I'm skeptical of whether a lot of these guys can make our team, but feel like we did well with the picks we had.

Based on what? How can you be skeptical about a lot of them and then think we did well? That makes no sense.

Yes, Gosselin gets his information from the teams (i.e. coaches/scouts/GMs)... you know, the people who know how to evaluate football talent much better than the average armchair QB fan. So, what's your point?
