Srsly hope Stanback is ready to contribute something next year.
if we go into next season counting on Stanback, we are in trouble. everytime a player we are looking at goes elswhere, some of you go right to the tired old line good, we dont need him anyway.we are in trouble at CB and reciever folks.

the only way we're in trouble at CB is if Newman and Henry miss alot of games...otherwise we're not in trouble there...we have one franchise CB and a 2nd thats very good

as for WR, we were in such trouble this past season that Romo somehow had one of the best seasons a QB in our great team's history has ever had...oh, and those same guys are back

alot of you over exaggerate stuff big time...could we use better nickle CB play and a dependable 3rd WR? Yeah sure...is it crippling if we dont spend first rd picks on both or either- absolutely not

If this is true walker is a friggen moro, he clearly doesnt want to win a superbowl. Oakland is gonna over pay him big time.

:lmao2: Funny stuff.

I'm definitely not saddened by this. When it comes to WR, I'm of the "go big or go home" train of thought...i.e. Fitzgerald or Williams...and since that's not likely, it looks like I'll be waiting a while.

exactly......

Javon walker? might as well go and get Antonio Bryant :D

na, seriously though, i was not all the excited to hear his name linked up on ours, my friend is a die hard Bronco's fan, and he does not seem heart broken over this loss

I am glad Moss is off the radar.
Hopefully Walker is off the radar.

It forces our "intelligent" move. We could have gotten real carried away with contracts for the above two.

Either go younger and early or IF Fitz was available then go ALL OUT for HIM.

Keep fooling yourself. Newman is a very good player. Henry is not very good right now. and stays hurt all the time. in this day and age you need more than 2 good corners. and we only have one. Neman is it. you can sit there and fool yourself until the cows come home.the facts dont lie.as for WR. you have two 35 year old WR's in Owens and Glenn. then you have Crayton, who's nothing more than a 3 or 4. we are in trouble at WR. and who knows. Glenn may not be able to make it back. and even if he does, how good will he be.get out of denial about this team.

Ticker now says 6 years, 55 million, 16 million guaranteed.

If those numbers are correct......Godbless you Jerry for not being an idiot...

As for Al Davis...

Good, we already have a WR with bad knees. If we can't swing Roy Williams from Detroit, let's just go with the draft.

Oh good lord you gotta be kidding. No wonder he wasn't even invited to VR. Without the bad knees i could see, but.........:banghead:

Dang. I don't particularly like Walker, but I was hoping Jerry would have swung a deal for a vet wr pretty early into fagency. I want Crayton back in the slot, and I doubt a rook is going to put him there.

Maybe a trade will happen on draft day but I wont be holding my breath.

really? how bout naming all the teams that are loaded up with more than a couple of good CB's? hell alot of teams dont have one good CB

you can sit there and fool yourself until the cows come home.the facts dont lie

Giants, Colts, Steelers...last 3 super bowl winners...none of them had CB play any better than ours...in fact our 2 starting CB's would easily start ahead of any CB's on those 3 teams

.as for WR. you have two 35 year old WR's in Owens and Glenn. then you have Crayton, who's nothing more than a 3 or 4. we are in trouble at WR. and who knows. Glenn may not be able to make it back. and even if he does, how good will he be.get out of denial about this team.

I didnt see anything in Owens game that suggested he was slowing down last yr, did you? In fact it was arguably his best season as a pro...Crayton has started for one yr and did pretty good save one game...alot of you want to discount everything he did during the other 16 games based on one poor effort vs the NYG

like I said, I'm not saying we couldnt use any help there, but niether is critical to the point where we dont have a chance in 2008 if we dont draft a CB and WR in the first rd, which is what so many act like

ESPN is reporting WAlker will get $27 Mil the first three yrs of the deal.....

That's Moss Money. Don't get me wrong, Walker is a good WR if he's healthy, but Moss is both expenentially better and healthy. Wow, Al Davis has just lost it...

holy moly...unbelievable

cant blame Walker for taking it...but I definitely dont blame Jones for looking elsewhere either...thats just a terrible deal, jsut like the rest of the deals the Raiders and some other teams have given out
