in response to this:

There is something chilling in here in the assumption that she is a victim. That is something that has to be proved and given the social ramifications of being labeled a woman beater today, it is probably something that should e proved beyond a reasonable doubt, rather than whatever weaker standard the NFL claims to use.

Again, unless she beat herself up, there is at least one person that knows what happened. Assuming Zeke is not guilty, he needs to find them and bring them to his appeal hearing.

He doesn't have to prove anything. All the information can be obtained by the Ohio state prosecuting office regarding this case. They found no evidence of wrong doing.

Zeke needs to fight this tooth and nail. 0 days suspension should be outcome and i'm confident that it will.

Why does he need to assert his innocence AGAIN over a year later?

My guess would be because the prevailing theme among people who give a cursory look at the sports news think he's a woman beater, and he doesn't want to be known as a woman beater. And I have not heard a vehement denial once from him. All the denial I've heard, if you can even call it that, has been extremely passive.

So you think this is going to go away with the information that's currently available? I think that's extremely short sighted.

And the NFL has indeed said that he is going to have to prove it to change their minds.

Nope of course not. I'm sure that all of this will be out in the open soon enough. I just don't think its going away soon and that Zeke and his team are playing it coy and close to the vest for now.

But as you tell from the media, the NFL's case is already crumbling. Its not coming from Zeke's camp. Now the NFLPA is involved also. So its not over yet.

Maybe there are legal reasons they aren't releasing their findings, I just find it unprofessional to throw out he's a woman beater and she's a victim without showing public as to why.

The NFL is who made this thing the shitshow that it is, it's simple as that. As I said in another thread, no one cared about this until the NFL had the long investigation - now it's in the public eye more than ever, and they are having a battle with the NFLPA.

I really hope in the near future the NFL drops the whole "We'll investigate ourselves!" junk.

I think everything is there in their 170 some odd page report. It seems like the major point was their medical experts attempting to "date" the injuries. I guess they didn't appear to line up with Zeke's explanation that she was in a fight. I think they actually said something about Zeke coming up with some lame reason like she could have fallen down some stairs.

Sexism versus Racism

Billionaires and sport caught in the middle.

I've been sick and disgusted but now I'm just going to watch the show.

Which I think is a fair thing to say - without sufficient evidence, you can come up with all sorts of reasons as to how she ended up with those bruises. And it's really not Zeke's job to prove how she got those injuries, it's up to her to prove Zeke caused them (At least, if things were being looked at fairly)

The NFL that released this ridiculous statement in response to factual assessments of her credibility? Yah good source.

talk about too much drama.
I am ready for some football, but this is detracting from the season already.

Because he has experts called lawyers that advise him what is best.

If he told the lawyers he was 100 percent innocent, they would tell him to say that to the public. Lawyers work off of a 'you tell us' system, meaning they won't ask you if you are innocent or guilty, and will defend you based upon the information you provide.

Serious question. Does this bother anyone to the point of turning the games off?

I have missed two games since 85. But...this isn't even football anymore. I don't know if I will shut the NFL off. I can't say that yet. What I can say is that it absolutely reduces my passion for the game.

I'm just tired of this stuff. I was really discouraged when they suspended Wade Wilson. That was stupid, IMO. The NFL trying to regulate pot use bugs me because it has no influence in making their play any better...no advantage. I get the DV issue. I think you just make sure your scapegoat is guilty beyond question.

I feel like the NFL is becoming a soap opera.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree if you or (his legal team) thinks he wouldn't be better off making a strong public denial of this.

His legal team would only advise him against it if he isn't passionately telling them he is innocent.

um ok but that's pretty hard to do but I guess you'd fare better in a similar situation.

Kapernick has not exactly excited me about the NFL. Disrespect for the game. However, I still watch Dallas faithfully every week.:starspin:

This is taking the fun out of the game among other stuff. I don't know if I'll ever quit watching but I'll never say never.
