If we're gonna sign a "quality" CB, I'd rather the league just take another 10 million. Save us from ourself like the Eagles did with Nnamdi.

Sure it's a big deal. It's 10 million to acquire talent lost. All because of the incompetence of our front office.

It's a huge deal and instead of everyone focusing on the league and concocting some anti-Cowboys conspiracy they ought to be looking at the two clowns running this team.
One trick pony.

If that decision was made this quickly, then the Cowboys must have already known they were gonna get hit with this and already have it accounted for in our FA budget. I still think it's a better idea to roll it all over into next year, which would still allow for us to be big spenders this year and the next.

Maybe that's part of the reason for the Dez restructuring . . . . someone commented that it was for just around $1mm, not that much money. But a few of those takes care of half the bill for 2012.

You really are a glass half full guy.

Give the team a chance, at least.

The 2012 season hasn't even started.

I'm very fair. I told you well ahead of time if we pay for upgrades along both lines, I'll be extremely positive. If we don't and use that money on a CB, I'll be really negative.

This recent news can only be viewed as negative.

The contract complied with the CBA. There was no reason to disapprove it.

Of course not. And now the same people who approved it has penalized the team for it. Absurd.

so Adam, are you saying no other teams did what we did? the skins and cowboys were the only ones?

What we did and what the Skins did are completely different things. The Saints and Raiders also did enough that they won't get any of the added cap room.

Other teams also took advantage of the uncapped year but either didn't do it to the same extent or simply got away with it.

The NFLPA should challenge this. It's less money to the players. Won't happen though.

Hey agenda girl, care to expalin how the Jones' lost the franchise 10mil in cap dollars?

You do realize that had they simply structured Austin's deal with a SB, the net effect would be the same?

Is it too hard for you to understnd that what Jerry attempted to do was spend 10mil of his own profit to give us 10mil more in cap resources over the life of Austin's contract?

I suspect you do realize this but find yourself incapable of giving the man credit when it's due.

Let's say the Cowboys do restructure muliple contracts, including Dez (already done), Witten, Ware, Romo, and I'm sure a couple other players.

I fail to see how we still can't afford a quality CB (and cut Newman, thus saving cap dollars), a Safety, and 1 interior OL (I don't think we go after Nicks in any case). And still re-sign Robinson.

That's a reasonable FA period, imo.

OK, if we do sign Williams or another quality DL, that would be phenominal. But even without, it's still a good FA period.
