Foreign objects ?
Like Abdullah the Butcher using a fork to gnar Terry Funks skull ?

Or Mr Fuji salt in the eyes !?
Or that beast in Nintendo 8-Bit Pro Wrestling. Dude had a pitchfork in his trunks. I think his name was the Amazon. They named a whole big corporation after him.

Game officials will have a heightened sense of awareness regarding field goal holders attempting to use a small object upon which to place the ball when holding for a field goal, after such a practice was observed in a Week 14 game.

In the NFC East clash between the Eagles and Giants, Philadelphia emergency holder Britain Covey, who pressed into service when punter Arryn Siposs was injured earlier in the game, was seen picking up a small white object from the field after a field goal attempt by kicker Jake Elliott. When the tape is rolled back, the object was seen directly under the ball when the snap was received, and was subsequently kicked forward naturally during the field goal attempt.

While, according to league sources, officials were made aware of this tactic on a Dec. 21 training tape, this is not the first time we’ve seen it in practice. In a 2020 Week 2 game, Chiefs holder Tommy Townsend can be seen apparently picking up a small object from the field after a game-winning 58-yard field goal by kicker Harrison Butker.

Exactly two seasons later, in Week 2 of this season, Lions holder Jack Fox did the same thing: picking up a small white object after extra-point and field goal attempts by kicker Michael Badgley in a game against the Commanders. Before Commanders fans cry foul, their holder Tress Way did the same thing for kicker Joey Slye in the same game.

I coached special teams in high school and I had a kicker who, during his senior year, wanted to scrap using the 1-2 inch block you're allowed to use in HS and kick off the ground to show colleges he could. The problem I had was that the holder needed a target for the spot once there wasn't a block to aim for. So during practice we'd use an object like a quarter or something like that for him to aim for. Never used it in a game, but it worked well for practice.

Wondering if that's what this is about... holders throwing down some small object to use as a target for the hold? I'd be surprised if professional special teams units would need an aid like that, but I guess you never know.

The refs have been notified:

1) Any contact on Brady is a foul.

2) Any contact on Dak is not a foul.

3) Call holding on the Cowboys.

4) Don't call holding on the Bucs.

5) If the Cowboys are about to win, call a bogus or ticky tack penalty to stop that.

6) If the Bucs are about to win, under no circumstance are you to call ANY fouls on the Bucs regardless of how blatant the act.

If your last name is Dicker like that guy out there, then it's kinda predestined.

Yeah like we all knew Kimbo Slice could throw dawgs. Never even had to see him, heard the name and said that's a dangerous man. Lol

The best way to avoid any back breaking calls is to win without doubt. I'm hoping its not so close it comes down to anything like that.

How can you win without a doubt when every big play you make is flagged? There are penalties on every single play by both teams. Refs can choose whether or not to call them.

Completely understand, difficult as it may be you have to be good enough to beat the opposition and overcome tough calls.

The Pats game last year was a great example. I dont believe that game should've been close.

These "foreign objects" could technically help kickers get extra height on the football. However, it's more likely they're used as spot markers.
"It is likely a marker so that the kicker knows exactly where it will be placed," Football Zebras said. "Doesn't matter whether it elevates the ball, it is a foreign object used to assist the kick, which is unsportsmanlike conduct."

just more bizarre rules to influence outcome of games?
kickoffs dont really matter so it has to be about fg's and I dont see how holder could set ball down on the FO lol.
