Trae Williams was the cb opposite Mike Jenkins at South Florida. A lot of so called scouts claimed he was an under-rated sleeper type.

BENGALS CUT WILLIE ANDERSON
Posted by Michael David Smith on August 30, 2008, 3:51 p.m.
We reported this afternoon that the Cincinnati Bengals asked tackle Willie Anderson to take a pay cut, and now we know Anderson’s answer.

“They wanted me to take a pay cut,” Anderson told The Cincinnati Enquirer. “I wouldn’t do it.”

So now Anderson is no longer a member of the Bengals, after 12 seasons and five Pro Bowls.

Anderson will become an unrestricted free agent, and presumably he’ll sign with someone soon. Although there are lingering injury issues, reliable veteran offensive tackles are always in demand.

BOLLINGER AMONG VIKINGS’ CUTS
Posted by Michael David Smith on August 30, 2008, 3:48 p.m.
John David Booty has beaten out Brooks Bollinger in the battle to be the Vikings’ third-string quarterback.

Chip Scoggins of the Star-Tribune reports that Booty will be on the team and Bollinger will be released when the Vikings make their 53-man roster official.

Another player cut today was rookie sixth-round pick Jaymar Johnson, who will likely be on the practice squad if no one signs him to their active roster.

Other cuts include rookie defensive end Martail Burnett, cornerback Dee McCann and defensive end Leger Douzable.

It was previously reported that running back Albert Young, linebackers Rufus Alexander and David Herron, wide receivers Martin Nance and Nate Jones, offensive tackle Chase Johnson, center Dan Mozes, guard Brian Daniels, cornerback Brandon Sumrall, tight end Braden Jones and defensive end Chris Norwell were cut.

WR Ashley Lelie (Hawaii): He missed most of training camp with a calf strain and did not catch a pass in the exhibition finale. It's possible that the 49ers could re-sign him to the active roster before the first game of the season. That way, they are not on the hook for his entire $1 million salary this season if they decide to part ways after the start of the regular season. Practice-squad eligibility: No

ASHLEY LELIE, 21 OTHERS GONE FROM 49ERS

Posted by Michael David Smith on August 30, 2008, 3:59 p.m.
The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have waived 21 players, most notably wide receiver Ashley Lelie, and placed one on injured reserve to reach the 53-man limit.
Lelie once looked like a potential star wide receiver, but last year he caught just 10 passes for 115 yards, and he didn’t fit the mold for what new offensive coordinator Mike Martz is looking for.
In addition to Lelie, the 49ers axed veterans DT Atiyyah Ellison, LB Dennis Haley, WR Ashley Lelie, FB Moran Norris, DT LaJuan Ramsey, T Alan Reuber and T Joe Toledo.
Rookies waived were WR Cam Colvin, G Brian de la Puente, TE J.J. Finley, LB Larry Grant, DE Louis Holmes and S D.J. Parker.
First-year players waived were RB Thomas Clayton, CB Markus Curry, DT Walter Curry, WR Robert Ortiz, T Chris Patrick, WR Jerard Rabb, P Ricky Schmitt and WR Dominique Zeigler.
First-year G Ramiro Pruneda will transfer to the practice squad as part of the NFL’s international practice squad program.
LB Jay Moore was placed on injured reserve with a biceps injury suffered in the preseason-finale against San Diego.

I would like the Cowboys to give Anthony Mix a look, he has good size, he's 6-5 243lbs, Id rather have him than Amendola of Jefferson.

Brandon London is a better prospect, the Giants wanted to keep him and didn't have room.
