"I have had the opportunity to speak to him before the game every time we did the Commanders this season. I think it was six total. I think he's learned, I think he's matured, and I think he understands where he's made mistakes. He's a likeable guy. In pregame, he was throwing the best ball of Colt McCoy, Kirk Cousins, and Robert Griffin III. He's healthy again. He's in a good place mentally. I remember the one thing he told us. He and his wife had had a daughter in May. He said, 'God always has a plan for us and God could not have planned this start of my family any better.' He goes, 'It's been such a tough year, such a tough time. The birth of my daughter put everything back in perspective. It realigned all my priorities.' He goes, 'I'll be better from this point going forward because of her birth.' He's really grounded. He's a different guy than when we first met him back in 2012 when he burst onto the scene. I think he's going to be a good fit for anybody who gets him. I think he's very, very motivated to prove that what happened in Washington was just kind of part of a dysfunctional situation and not a result of his diminishing skills as a quarterback."
