Both sides will be hurt if a conclusion isn't met.It really is ridiculous how long this is taking.

There’s already a big money offer on the table. A deal will get done.it's the coaches, offensive line, special teams, and defense fault, oops wrong excuses. I guess Jerry doesn't think he's the best quarterback in the league like the "dak slobbers".
Nah, it's the anti-Dakers.SJ at it again with the team friendly **** trying to get the public on his side. From some these comments, its working.
the public is cowboys fans who have been waiting for 25+ years for a super bowl. The public does not see why an non elite QB like dak wants to max out and get paid mahomes money , and won't take 33-35 mil after going 1-6 against decent teams last year. The public knows the cowboys need help to sign quality players on defense and offense to have the support cast needed to win a super bowl. It is about a team, not an entitled overrated QB who has done nothing so far.SJ at it again with the team friendly **** trying to get the public on his side. From some these comments, its working.
I hope he misses otas. And denucci unseats him and noodle arm! Heck , hope he unseats Chris Jones at punter too lolI have very little doubt he misses even one OTA...if they happen.
Because they arent, I see no rush. If I'm Jerry, I'd write that signing bonus check later than sooner.
He definitely wont miss a day of camp because neither side wants to miss the July 15 deadline.
I think Dak's offer guaranteed $105mil, no? That's hardly $20mil less, as someone suggested..
What have the Cowboys offered?
And you don’t understand the structure Goff got. It was a four year extension tacked on to the remaining two years of his rookie deal, which allowed them to spread money over more than just four years.
Should have signed Famous Jameis on the cheap and had $30million dollars to spend. Get a better player in Jameis and have money to spend. No way a healthy cam newton, Andy Dalton or famous jameis couldn’t win at least the same 8 games we did last year.
and all that “leverage” everybody thinks dak has. Yea, he doesn’t have any leverage at all. He will either sign the tag by July or be holding a clipboard for $1m on another team next year. Either way, if he doesn’t bring a super bowl to the negotiating table next year, he gone.
What's there to trust? A contract is a contract. The parameters are already out there.
Dak wants 4 years so he can seemingly cash in again sooner. Cowboys want 6 years to spread the cap hit like the Eagles did with Wentz and Rams did with Goff. The Cowboys are on the right side of this, not Dak.

well hes not just an avg qb.
Everytime he's play the "elite" guys he's played with them or even better. He's outplayed Rodgers, Goff, and Wilson in his playoff games. Its not his fault the defense couldnt stop the rams or packers. Daks rookie yr he was great in close games winning on late drives. Then from 2017-2019 the offensive coaches tried to get cute and them close games started to go the other way.
Dak deserves to be paid higher than Wentz and Goff because he's played better and has out performed them. Its not his fault the market is overpaying QBs.
Dak was paid based on his draft position. Did you hit your head on something? Guess he should have been a better college QB. How is that the Cowboys fault? At least they gave him a chance when no one else would. Then the Cowboys should have no problem paying Dak the same amount of money that Goff and Wentz got over the 1st 4 years of their contract with the Eagles and Rams. So Dak may very well get his $40 million a year deal!
Nobody cried (including Dak) when he was on average the 77th highest paid QB in the NFL. NOBODY. That was a Dak Prescott problem and not a Dallas Cowboys problem...and I agree. Dak never held out or even threaten to hold out...he performed his contractual obligations...even while the Matt Staffords of the world made more in 1 half than Dak was making in one entire season.
But your assertion that Dak should sign a 6 year contract and lock himself into a deal that will cause him to be underpaid AGAIN in 4 years is a nonstarter.
Now the Cowboys wanting to spread out the cap hit over 6 years instead of 4 years...ready...wait for it...sounds like a Dallas Cowboys problem...and not a Dak Prescott one.

Back pay is a made up thing you created in your mind. You clearly did not read my post. But you're damn right...as I SAID...that was a Dak problem he wasn't drafted higher...it is also NOT a Dak problem NOW that the Cowboys want to sign him to a 6 year deal to spread out the cap hit...that is a COWBOYS problem.
The Cowboys want ALL the structural benefits of a rookie QB first round deal...all while...get this...paying him as a 4th rounder...No...if you want him to sign a 6 year deal to match Wentz and Goff...the Cowboys can start by PAYING Dak his back pay that Wentz and Goff too.
At draft time, I was a huge fan of Wentz but I'm here to tell you that if you think Wentz is a good as Dak, you're not paying attention. Wentz has more wormburners and airballs than I have ever seen in a 1st rnd pick. He has a bigger arm than Dak, that's true but that is the only thing. Dak is cool under pressure, has a good enough arm, can run, and has a knack for comebacks. He has been a victim of one of the worst drop rate receiving corps in the NFL. This was a talking point for Wentz apologists in the past (not sure if you were one of those) why is that suddenly no excuse for Dak. Do I think Dak deserves to be the highest paid player in football? NO. Do I think he is the best Qb in football? No, but he isn't junk either and he has been better than Wentz from day one and is still better than Wentz, just not 40 mill worth better.nah deserves whatever his employer feels hes worth..no set numbers for any player, its a negotiation and for sure dak is not better then wentz , they are in the same ballpark, so more is bs narrative..no one deserves anything when we are talking 30plus million you get no sympathy from Joe average public..
he is above average but thats where it stops hes top 10 and wants top 1-3 money or more..NO way hes that QB, if you think that you need to get some air..those fumes are messing with your reality..
he was offered top 5 deal and IMHO that great take it get more in 4-5 years..
