Scene: New York Giants Throne Room, it's dark and there is an ambiance of evil and corruption thick in the air. In the middle are two dark cloaked figures. Surrounding them are NY Giants practicing falling and faking injuries.
Mara (in a whiny voice): "Uh oh, the Cowboys are looking too good. They might spoil Eli's chances to look relevant. Minion, do something about it."
Goodell: "Yes, master."
Exit Goodell.
Mara: I wonder if this will look too contrived. No, the public is stupid. They'll merely think it's about social justice warrioring.
End scene.

How does employment law work?

Can Zeke tell the investigators to talk to his lawyers, and his lawyers can say no comment to the NFL?

Favre got fined for not cooperating with the investigation into his lewd texts.

Is this normal? Seems like a ridiculously long amount of time to investigate something that already has the smoking gun of false testimony on her part.

It seems like these things tend to be dragged out for a long time. That could just be a bad perception on my part though.

I have no idea either, I know that they spend years building evidence against crime bosses but something like this shouldn't take much time at all. I'm guessing this is all for appearance and perception so that the media doesn't pound them, but if they try to suspend Zeke there will be a monster backlash.
