NFL still investigating Zeke's domestic violence accusation **merged**

I don't trust Goodell and the NFL office when they have Mara in their ear.

As said above, certainly no coincidence that this surfaces right as the Giants and NFL are getting killed in the press for botching the Brown case. LOL.

If the prosecution decided not to follow through and did not find enough/any evidence to back up the accusations, then the league continues to overstep its reach...players need a real head of the NFLPA, not just some lackey for the owners...

There are people terminated every day for violating company polices all around the US and the majority of them didn't do anything criminal. Every company has the right to handle it's investigations and decide if any part of their actions was a violation or not of Company polices. Criminal charges are not important in those cases. I have seen people terminated because they posted naked pics on the internet, or said something bad about the company on their facebook pages, etc..

I personally think this is a witch hunt and now with the Brown thing once again blowing up in their faces, they will make a stand and Zeke will be suspended. Just to take try and save face and show how "strong" they are against this stuff.

But my personal feelings aside, they have the right to handle the investigation with or without criminal activity.

Fans have to remember that the players aren't just "employees" like other jobs. They are part of the product. They are "partners" with the owners. "Regular job" rules don't apply. All of these issues are collectively bargained, which is not the case in non-union jobs across the country.

Congress will have to look into Goodell and Mara in conjunction with Blandino; fixing the rosters (Goodell/Mara) and calls (Blandino) due to influence of the sports book in Nevada.

The rumors have been spreading quietly over the last two years. Not a wonder with questionable rules and calls being made, a new head of reply that has no officiating background and the unorthodox style of these investigations going on and the length, especially the timing of suspensions.

Quite a report has been compiled, it will probably be released after the elections.

If you guy's don't hear back from me, well it means my cover has been blown.

Nice chatting with you all.

Does anyone else have a huge issue with the fact that the NFL can have investigations over something that is already legally resolved? Is that even legal for them to do?
This is a very good point. If the NFL wanted to they can investigate stuff that players did in high school. They could investigate someone for the sake of investigating them. At what point does it become harassment. Why are they investigating something that was expunged? I call harassment. They're doing it cuz they can.

Exactly
And the NFL has had some bad press over some of its investigations. I suspect this is mostly cya type stuff but the players agreed to the CBA and the league is doing what the cba calls for. In the end I suspect nothing will come of it and it shouldn't take this long but the brown stuff blew up in their face so I expect extra diligence

I am the last to buy "evil media".

But corrupt commissioner and his little buddy ?

The NFL is going to be looking for someone to come down hard on after screwing up the J. Brown thing so publicly and horribly. If there is anything they can do to make the next guy the scapegoat for that screw up I have no doubt they will do just that. Add in the Mara factor and the star player for a division leading rival? It stinks. Smells awfully foul. If anything comes of this Zeke and the Cowboys need to fight this tooth and nail via the Brady route if necessary.

This is a big ado about nothing. They'll eventually dismiss/close this investigation.

If the police had less than nothing, I don't know what the NFL would find. It does stink to high heaven though, especially with a big divisional game coming up.

They cannot just suspend Zeke for the hell of it. If they do they are committing a federal crime where the lack of "due process" is taken into consideration. Now if they did suspend Zeke, which I don't think they will, they will be liable for breaking the law. The NFL will then have to answer to a court of law on why they took away a young man's future without due process entitled to every individual in our country.

By recently they probably just mean the bye week. Doesn't seem like a big deal.
