Do they really think the judge is going look at this favorably?

The only real reason the NFL did this was for PR. Listen, not many people followed that story. The NFL kept that pretty quiet IMO. This was going to come out during the course of the fight, so the NFL decided to get ahead of it and show "fairness". I hope the commentators and reporters report the fact that this was done way after the fact during Zeke's legal fight. It's total BS, and the NFL has egg on their face yet again.

You couldn't make this up if you tried.

It does look pretty sketch.

This will NOT get the NFL out of having to explain why or how they justified a 1-game suspension for 20+ admitted incidents of DV.

If anything, this bolsters the argument that the league is unfair and inconsistan

This was done in an attempt to control perception. Someone could have said White kicker = 1 game. Black running back = 6 games... NFL is retrospectively punishing in order to correct perception. Thus, White Kicker = 7 games. Black running back = 6 games. "See we aren't racist." What a clown show this has become. Is Josh Brown even on a team?

Yep, Zeke should've beaten Goodell to the R card and hit him with it before he had a chance to pull this stunt

The league office can't get out of it's own way. This "suspension" is a joke and just further proves the league is a clown show. Do they really think increasing Brown's suspension at this point in time helps their case? It just reinforces the complete fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants manner in which they operate. I would think news of this would infuriate the judge and give further evidence of Goddell's ineptness.

I don't think this is racial at all...I think that they should play the DC card, because the bias there is ridiculous

It is as if they are going out of their way to look incompetent. Do they want to lose this case? Zeke gets exonerated. The NFL looks serious on DV. They get publicity. They get ratings.

Might be farfetched but I am starting to wonder.

The NFL shouldn't be investigating Anybody. The NFL should investigate football things, square itself away on the field and leave the legal things to the justice system and law enforcement professionals.

They should be investigating Eli. He was attempting to pass off NFL Equipment as game worn and sell to unsuspecting fans. This directly involves the NFL and their rep...

One of the recent criticisms of the NFL during its recent Ezekiel Elliott investigation/suspension was a lack of consistency, after the Cowboys running back got a six-game punishment the year after Giants kicker Josh Brown got one.

The NFL has taken a retroactive step to remedy that.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the NFL has suspended the former Giants kicker six more games for violating its personal conduct policy, for domestic violence.

Of course, Brown’s career was probably over anyway, as he’s a kicker, and the Giants parted ways with him after last year’s one-game suspension. (Even though, you know, they signed him to a contract extension with knowledge of the allegations of abuse by his ex-wife.)
