I think that is about right. Depending o the severity of the break, probably take about 6 weeks to heal with 2 weeks to recover (get the muscles build up around the bone). I severely broke my wrist when I was younger to point that every bone in the wrist was either broken, shattered, or dislocated and was out for 12 weeks. Ten of those weeks were for healing (got the cast off afterwards) and the last 2 weeks were for recover of building my muscle up in my arm. Had to wear a splint on my arm for those 2 weeks to prevent re-injuring it.

Supposedly the previous break could help the healing process because breaks tend to make the bone stronger.

If Romo misses 7 or 8 games they need to just hold him out the rest of the year and hope for better next year.

I see a lot of confidence and love for Weeden being thrown around in here. Please people. Don't let yourselves be sucked in. People thought the same thing last year when Weeden looked good against the Commanders.

Oh we'll be alright. Weeden can start against the Cards and Jacksonville and let Tony heal till after the bye.

Yeah...how'd that work out? Weeden was so awful in his start against Arizona that Romo had to come back against the Jags to make sure we didn't lose 3 straight games.

By the time Romo is likely ready to be back this team either be out of it, or in such a hole that it would not be worth risking Romo's health for it.

I hope everyone who feels good about Weeden is right...but I don't see it and I don't believe we're going to see it.

I know Tony could've prevented this injury but I feel like the RB has to do a lot with him taking more chances. Hear me out, Randle is doing fine but the continuity like we had when Murry was here isn't the same. Just like a QB has to trust and be on the same page as his WRs I feel it's the same with his RB. That goes with pass blocking and also counting on them to make plays when needed (goal line play resulting in 3pts). There were times last year we had Murry carry us to get us through tough yards (Whether short or long). This year it doesn't seem like we have that same faith in the run game. It really could be affecting the OL play and like I said Romo taking more chances.

Yes the eagles defensive front is good and you can call the Giants game a look see kind of game since it's the 1st game but we need to get better production at running the ball. These next few games will tell us if our RBs are respected. What I mean by that is now we can't rely on Romo to win us games. We will need production from running as well. This will help open the offense up for Weeden.

So let me get this straight. You want a 2-0 team to deliberately tank a season even though their star quarterback will be back sometime around Thanksgiving.

As bad as Weeden was in Cleveland, he still won about one in every three or four games. If he maintains just that pace, the Cowboys will probably be 4–5 by the time Romo gets back.

They will be 4–5 in a division where two teams are already 0-2, and 0–2 teams make the playoffs about 11% of the time.

Geez, people...

Romo will be back by week 10 in my opinion. Dez will be back by then. We'll have all of our horses on defense out there in just a couple weeks.

That's 7 ballgames. If this team can fight and hold it down and go 3-4 or even 4-3, which I think they are capable of doing, then we'll be in a great position to accomplish everything we want to accomplish and that's make a run for it all.

The collarbone injury is different for everybody. Depending on what the additional tests say about Romo's injury, he could be ready to go even sooner than the 8 weeks.

We'll be alright. This defense has me really excited and they'll take this stretch of games and put everything on their back.

Let's get it!

There's a good chance we can win the division this year by going 8-8 or 7-9.

So the season is definitely not over. Once healthy and in the playoffs, good luck league.

Like I said maybe you folks who have faith in Weeden will be right.

I have zero faith in him.

We're probably not going to even win 2 games with him starting. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we do.

I could very easily see us having 2 wins by the time Romo is able to return, maybe 3, and then yeah I don't believe it's quite worth risking Romo just so we can try and fight back to 8-8.

Of course I could always be wrong and maybe Weeden will be just fine. I just don't believe he will be. That's all.

Having faith suggests I am expecting something I haven't seen before or for which I have no evidence. Weeden's capacity to win two games out of seven has been observed.

Brandon Weeden beat Andrew Luck and RG3 in college, ya'll act like the guy has no leadership attributes whatsoever.

There is no doubt in my mind that we'll have Romo and Dez back for the last 6 or 7 games of the year. Romo will get over the collarbone injury fast. I've seen a ton of people mess up their collarbone and heal quickly, it's not a season ender. Dez has too much dog in him, he'll be back with plenty of time and we'll still be in it to win it.

We just have to take it one game at a time, which we will. This defense is about to get big-time nasty. They are nasty now but in two weeks it will be big-time.

Come on people! We are 2-0 and just wrecked the Eagles. Great teams weather injuries and adversity and move forward. It's not like we don't have things to be excited about. I'm excited about this defense. I'm excited about all of the weapons we have on offense even now and I am really excited for when Romo and Dez get back. I'm hella excited about Sean Lee.

This division is ours!

Tony Romo is expected to miss about eight weeks after fracturing his left clavicle in Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Dallas Cowboys could place the quarterback on IR/designated-to-return.

bogus reporting. Until Dallas doctors give us exact location of break and time frame I will cling to my 5 games missed estimate :)

Weeden looked pretty good yesterday. I am hoping and praying that he has learned the offense enough so he really feels comfortable back there. If that is the case, I think he will be fine. I know he's no Romo but I think he can be serviceable. He's going to lose some games but I see him winning a few to keep us in the hunt.

Wanting to hang it up for Romo is ridiculous.

Okay.

Well cool.

If we're 2-7 or 2-8 by the time he gets back I'm not into risking him any further for an 8-8 season.

I don't know. Maybe we'll be fine and we'll still be in it by the time Romo is able to come back.

Today I'm not feeling that, and I'm not encouraged that it will happen.

And that's all I'll say about it for the rest of the day.

They're 2-0 and their best competition in the division is 0-2. Yet you are calling for the team to throw in the towel because they lost two players for about 8 weeks?

I don't know what the problem is with the reading comprehension here. I didn't post anything about throw in the towel today.

I said in 8 weeks when Romo is able to come back, assuming he is even able to by that time, if they're 2-7 or 2-8 then yeah I'm not really all that thrilled with the idea of bringing him back just to go .500

I'm not calling for anyone to do anything.

For Christ Sakes people. I'm sorry that I don't share your belief that Weeden can accomplish anything.

I understand where you are coming from. Weeden looked awful against the Cardinals last year.

I am just not that impressed with the defenses we are about to face. The Falcons defense can be had and the Saints look horrible.

I have a good feeling that we'll be in it when we get our guys back. We have a pretty good cushion right now which is part of my optimism. Everything will be right there in front of us when we start to get healthy.

Fair enough.

I hope so.

In a few days I might even start actually believing it and start looking harder at that.

Today I'm in no such mood, unfortunately. It just doesn't look great to me today.
