NFL TV ratings

I specifically made sure to keep watching games even other than dallas games because of the anthem issue.

This is a historic and very competitive WS and will have great ratings

This is the real reason, IMO. In fact, I think the possibility of the Cleveland Indians winning the World Series on Sunday night took away some of the audience from the NFL. Truth be told, if the Cowboys weren't playing, I likely would have watched the World Series too as I'm really only interested in seeing the last game anyway.

Ratings are down due to poor product and continued idiotic attempts by the NFL to play games in more and more days
I also think it is because the NFL's unnecessary idea that it has to insert itself and be the arbiter on legal matters. If people think the whole national anthem thing is a problem, get rid of this idea that it needs to be played before sporting events, and you won't have that attention drawn to it.

If it wasn't a cubs involved World Series the rating wouldn't of been as high.

And what a world we live in where people can't take players taking a knee during the national anthem that I think only ESPN has shown since like week 3.

Do you agree with the anthem issue? My guess would be NO

Did you watch the cowboys on Sunday? My guess would be YES

Just stop it

Not sure why you are (seemly)getting defensive over this topic.
Down here in Florida, quite a few were pissed off at Stills, Foster and Thomas for kneeling, and have stopped watching.
These are people who have suffered through a decade+ of crap football and I guess the anthem was the breaking point.

CBS poll

This poll shows 32% of fans say they have/will stop watching due to the protest.

Personally, I'm not upset at the kneeling at all, but it does seem like others are tuning the NFL out because of it.

It's not like the World series goes on for 8 weeks either.

No, it's far from meaningless. Report out on CBS that a survey on the rating showed the anthem thing as the #1 reason for many tuning out.
I'm hearing the same thing especially given the political friction on top of the up coming election. Interesting stuff.

A few players protested in a peaceful manner within the rules to bring to light a legitimate issue in our nation

If "some" fans don't like it, that is their problem and not up to the NFL to address

These fans need to grow up and understand that this issue is not going away. I'll stop here because this is not s political forum

It doesn't sit well with most military families at all. A bunch of uneducated, coddled millionaires who think they understand anything about anything.

Just play football like the blockhead you are, and shut up.

So were the coddled millionaires always rich? Didn't Dez and other players use to be dirt poor? And because they are now rich means they have to be disconnected from unjust social issues? Maybe you're the one who should shut up, because if anyone sounds like a blockhead it is you.

Ratings for the WS was probably up because it was a close game throughout. Also, take into account that you can watch SNF on a phone or online. Not sure if ratings include that.

Now that I think about it, FOX is included in online tv subscriptions like Playstation Vue and Sling TV.

Hence, fans are also protesting in a peaceful manner within the rules to bring to light a legitimate issue forced on us by NFL players

The anthem issue is meaningless to the ratings and is just brought up by fans who don't agree with the issue

This. This. and This.

No problem
Don't watch the game next week

I was switching back and forth between the games, i wonder how the ratings account for people who were doing that?

Penalties, penalties and more penalties. Game is turning into baseball with how slow it's moving and the lack of personality.

How was the survey conducted? Did they ask people who actually have stopped watching?

It's easy to get a survey to say anything you want - phone 841 random people and ask,"The NFL's ratings are down this year, do you think it could be due to the National Anthem protests?" I guarantee that over half of the people, who probably don't even know about them or watch football, will answer yes. You just fed them the answer. Then you post your results and count the clicks.

Let's see their methodology.

as a cubs fan, I watched the football game. commercials were too in sync too, so I did not see much of the baseball game
