Can't imagine getting more than 4 games for deflating footballs. Not sure 4 games fit the crime probably should have only been 2 games.

He conspired to destroy evidence and didn't cooperate with the investigation, something he is required to do under the CBA.

That is worth every bit of 4 games itself, let alone the cheating.

Not just about the footballs though. It's about obstructing the investigation. That, IMO, is what has really pissed off the NFL. They don't want players getting the idea that they can simply ignore the NFL in situation such as this.

Not a Brady sympathizer or Pats supporter but I still think that the NFLPA needs to fight hard to take the decision making out of the Commissioner's hands. These matters should be decided by a truly independent individual that is compensated by both the NFL and NFLPA equally. The arbitrary and capricious decisions made by the Commissioner and his Office are frustrating and perplexing. There is no precedence for the Brady suspension. They randomly assign game suspensions and fines when it comes to Personal Conduct, etc.

Probably because game and personal integrity matters. Looks pretty bad when you have to lie about your destroyed phone. Had he come clean, two games would make sense. But Brady felt infallible.

I'm surprised....thought for sure he'd be on the field vs Dallas.
But the phone destruction probably ended his chances.

That is all negotiated during the CBA talks. It is completely legal and valid.

The commissioner absolutely has the power to punish on-field violations. There is not a lot of precedence for this type of violation to begin with.
