:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: For all the fans who say that if the Cowboys sign DeAngelo Hall it would be a bad idea need to really have a reality check. And what I mean is that he is not a bad corner, plus our secondary really needs help... So what if he couldn't make it with the Raiders they are garbage anyway, plus they are in alot of turmoil and as far as the Falcons go they aren't any better... Yea and go ahead and say he is another Pacman Jones, as far as Pacman goes he is not bad either he just needs a little help and he will be fine..... Stop being so quick to say someone is garbage give the man a chance....But anyway come on Jerry lets talk to Al Davis and get this thing going so we can salvage the rest of our season.

Save the 'reality check' for yourself.

Apparently, despite 'reality' you still see what you want to see.

The team that just signed him to a long-term, huge money deal is looking to get out after 8 games, despite the millions of dollars they've already given him.

There's 'reality' for you.

Deangelo is an overrated dweeb... With that said though...

Id take him an Pacman to start on this team. At least when they get burned they still play with some passion.

you are outta your head dude.

have you ever watched Hall tackle? apparently not

and Jenkins is already a better cover guy than Hall is.

When I think of DeAngelo Hall, I think of Eddie Royal pwning him in Week 1

he's been owned by about every WR he's lined up against for 3 seasons now

Unless Hall is on suspension watch by Goodell or if he has documented off the field issues, then why not wait until he passes through waivers and negotiate the vet min with him?

Don't think any teams will bite on his crazy salary. If the Cowboys sign him, what could it hurt, he could not be any worse than Ball, Butler or Brown. And he's a heckuva lot younger than Ty Law. And I'm one who advocated working Law out.

Dallas needs help on D, wherever they can find it, on the sidelines or on the field.

Hall would not improve this defense, period.

He has 18 interceptions the last three years, third most in the league. Where does he stand in giving up touchdowns? I'm sure it's at least top three also. The guys a guesser for sure.

Hall only gave up 2 TDs in 2007 (one of which was a 4 yard pass) and played very well. Haven't really watched him this season (except for Eddie Royal's pwnage) and he was meh in 2006, but it was for 2 mess franchises. This move shocks me, I mean you invested a ton of money and a 2nd round pick into a guy who's still only 24 years old and drop him in 8 games. Hell, I would accept him in Dallas if he does nothing but return punts, lord knows we need help there. He's overrated and has been since he was wearing the maroon and orange in Blacksburg but playing across from Asomugha and having no pass rush isn't ideal situation. Though, I wouldn't consider it for that cash.

While I totally disagree, Florio thinks Jerry will be interested:

HALL CAN BE HAD CHEAP ON WAIVERS, WITH SOME RISK

Posted by Mike Florio on November 5, 2008, 9:40 a.m.

As the Raiders prepare to cut cornerback DeAngelo Hall (we hear there’s a 99 percent chance it happens on Wednesday), the question for any team interested in his services is whether to put in a waivers claim, or take their chances on winning a potential bidding war via midseason free agency.

His salary for 2008 is only $1 million; that equates to only $470,588 for a rest-of-year rental.

But there’s a catch. If Hall suffers a serious injury, that $16 million in unpaid bonus money becomes guaranteed.

So who’d take such a chance? We can think of one guy who’s pulling out all the stops in an effort to propel his team toward a Super Bowl title.

Jerry Jones, owner of the Cowboys.

Stay tuned.

He's not a free agent. He has a 6 and a half year contract that's still valid, just with no more accelerated cap hits attached if the team that claims him were to waive him (Oakland ate that signing bonus of 10 mil).

He's not a FA at the moment. But the moment he clears waivers (Cause I doubt anyone is picking him up off of them with that deal) then yes he actually does become a FA.

Of course someone might take the chance on him off the waivers since his salary for this year is a mere 1 million, provided he doesn't become seriously injuried. Then the remaining 16 million bonus would become guarunteed.

Again I don't think anyone picks him up off waivers, they'll wait till he clears and then talk with him as a FA.

Whether he should be here or not (and I think the guys is way, way overrated), it better not surprise anyone if Jerry goes sniffing around. It's what Jerry does.

Exactly. How could anyone be shocked, or surprised, if the guy winds up here?

The guy is very washed up. Avoid at all costs.

At 24 years old? Really? Washed up? Wow. I dont think he's as great as some like to believe he is but he's also far from washed up.

From what I understand, from what I've read, he's the first of many because the Raiders are now in the mode of clearing money in the future cause they're just plain bad. It looks as if this could be the first of many in a fire sale to simply think about the future, beyond this year, cause they know they're not getting any better.

Now whether that is an indictment on him alone, or the majority of a horrible team for a horrible franchise, I don't know.

I wouldn't be shocked, in the least, if Jerry does it. This would be him signaling that he's moved on from Adam Jones though because it would assure that Jerry isn't bringing him back to Dallas if/when he's able to get back from suspension.

well he is taller than adam jones, and he has more speed than jones, and he is in football shape now

granted this wont fix this teams defense, good ole wade has to spend more time on defense, thats what he was hired for and fix the defense till offense catches up with Romo, kosier and felix jones back

thing to think about if hall is in shape, and no injury, then he would be good when the offense starts scoring, he can help out in the secondary with coverage, and then you could move henry to free safety and hamlin to strong safety

i think then that would fix the defense with newman back and then you could put jenkins and scandrick in slot etc

the key to all of this, if offense can get untracked and back to scoring like they did last year, then all the defense has to do is tee off on the QB, hardly any runs;

that then will make this team tough, if T O can work with Roy Williams share footballs, and then you can throw to witten down the middle, with barber running over players and felix jones running around them

I think opinions differ on whether he'll be claimed or not. Seems to depend on someone willing to take a risk.

Shocked that Jerry Jones could be so stupid.

Surprised that he'd overpay for an overrated player.

And disappointed that we'd be stuck with a lousy corner.

Would the words 'overrated overpaid disappointment' work better?

The fact that the Raiders are willing to pay $8 million for 8 games to be rid of him says enough. Among many mistakes, he's the most glaring and the first one they're looking to correct.

Shocked? More like terribly disappointed that another team's problem would suddenly become another one of ours.

Yeah I'm not saying that Jerry should or that I'd agree with him doing it. I'm just not going to be shocked, at all, if he does.
