Yeah I'm not saying that Jerry should or that I'd agree with him doing it. I'm just not going to be shocked, at all, if he does.

Oh.

I was under the impression that you would be for this move.

My mistake.

LOL. Not at all. I'm not a Hall hater, like some, but I don't think he's all that and a bag of chips like some think either.

I'm just not going to be surprised anymore when Jerry brings in guys.

Adam Schefter
Hall to be released Wednesday
Posted: November 5th, 2008 | Adam Schefter | Tags: DeAngelo Hall, Oakland Raiders

Oakland and cornerback DeAngelo Hall completed the paperwork Tuesday night, and the move will become official today.

In the first of what could be a flurry of releases, the Raiders will waive Hall, freeing them from the $16 million in injury-guaranteed bonuses they would have had to pay him next season.

Instead, Hall will have gotten money for almost nothing - $8 million for eight games, a nice, tidy $1 million per game salary.

Hall will be placed on waivers, where any team will have the right to claim him and his contract. If he goes unclaimed, Hall will be free to sign with any team, and he will want it to be with a playoff contender.

Teams interested in him in the off-season were the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders and New York Giants. New England also has been in the market for cornerbacks.

Hall is expected to resurface quickly while the Raiders begin rebuilding yet again. Hall will be the first high-priced player released. But he will not be the last.

Just thought I'd post this from the latest at NFL network on him being officially cut and some of the reasons why.

If this is a repost my appologies.

Maybe they'll cut McFadden and we can pick him up too.

LOL! Actually a friend of mine said something like that about McFadden. The thing is that guy probably wouldn't clear waivers and obviously we wouldn't need him here or anything but it's not like he's been doing all that well anyway.

Of course he does play for the Raiders so that has to be factored in.

No I don't see what I want to see, but if he is out there and reasonable then I say get him..... what could it hurt? Maybe Dallas could turn him around

the only thing i have to say is, why the hell everytime theres a free agent, dallas has to pop up? geez.

Because that is how Dallas is and why not get him before another team such as the Giants, or the Commanders pick him up... think about that!!!

The guy is very washed up. Avoid at all costs.

Yea that is what people said about Pacman.....but look at him yea he has off the field problems but he is seeking/getting help but other than that he is an excellent CB and with D. Hall I think it could work... And lets not say Terence Newman don't get me wrong he is one of the Top 5 CB's in the league, but he is getting old and always seem to have pulled hamstring problems... lets get some youth in the CB position

well he is taller than adam jones, and he has more speed than jones, and he is in football shape now

wow, so we're back to tall and fast being a real gauge of football ability

granted this wont fix this teams defense,

correct, it will be far worse because Hall sux

thing to think about if hall is in shape, and no injury, then he would be good when the offense starts scoring, he can help out in the secondary with coverage, and then you could move henry to free safety and hamlin to strong safety

Hall sux, what part of those ESPN highlights that you see every week with receivers running by him do you not understand?

i think then that would fix the defense with newman back and then you could put jenkins and scandrick in slot etc

except both Jenkins and Scandrick are both better than Hall, without the team cancer behavior
