I'd cut Pacman and give his money to Hall.

By signing Hall we would keep him away from the G-Men or Redstinks.

Davis has officially lost his mind.

I'm not sure what' worse - trading for Hall and giving him that bloated contract or releasing him after half a season, a 2nd round pick and $8M dollars.

You know Jerry will be on the phones about him. Don't lie to yourselves. This is just the kind of move he's been making lately.

HALL THE FIRST STEP OF A SILVER AND BLACK PURGE?
Posted by Mike Florio on November 4, 2008, 8:46 p.m.

In the wake of the news that the Raiders soon will release cornerback DeAngelo Hall, a league source tells us that as many as 15 other current members of the team could be gone before next year.

The source believes that the purge will include receiver Javon Walker and defensive tackle Tommy Kelly.

As to Hall, we’re told that the reasons given for the move include a desire to devote the money that Hall would receive over the next year ($16.5 million) to inking cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to a long-term deal, and to sign other players.

Also, don’t be shocked if someone makes a waivers claim on Hall. We’re told that interested teams include the Patriots, Texans, Giants, Commanders, Rams, and Saints. Several teams have the money to pay Hall — and getting him for $16 million in guaranteed money could be regarded as a bargain.

HALL OUT IN OAKLAND?
Posted by Mike Florio on November 4, 2008, 8:24 p.m.

Wow.

The DeAngelo Hall experiment in Oakland could be ending, as soon as Wednesday.

Wow.

Per Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Raiders would make the move in order to avoid $16 million in injury-guaranteed bonuses.

Schefter reports that the move was going to be made on Tuesday, but that the team decided to wait a day.

If/when Hall is cut, he will have been paid $8 million for eight games, and the Raiders will have squandered a second-round pick.

On one hand, it’s another sign that the Raiders are horribly dysfunctional. On the other hand, at least the Raiders are willing to acknowledge their blunder and not compound it by paying him another $16 million.

Hall would go through waivers, but it’s highly unlikely that anyone would pick up his contract. If no one bites, he’d then become an unrestricted free agent.

As Schefter points out, the teams most interested in Hall when he was traded by the Falcons were the Giants, Commanders, and Cowboys.

Our guess is that the Cowboys will bring him in as an alternative to Mike “Tiptoe Matador” Jenkins.

That is not exactly the best logic to use for something like this.

Florio is one of the most annoying writers.

Wow....I've got to admit I'm honestly shocked he's about to be released there.

I'd like to say I'd be shocked if Dallas picked him up but honestly I wouldn't be in the least bit shocked if we did.

Why not?

He would help us, we could keep him away from our division foes.

How is that not beneficial for the Cowboys?

If Hall is cut, his contract is officially over.

Not until after he clears waivers, right? I mean if anyone picks him up on waivers they have to keep that deal right?

but isnt that what we want so we can burn him against either of those teams?

Wonder if Al Davis will hold a press conference and put his love letters to D-Hall on an overhead projector for all to see? Maybe he'll say he's waiving him "for cause."

Hall in a soft zone wouldn't be a bad idea

I guess seeing him get beat 20 or 30 times the past few seasons for long gains and/or tds just aint enough for some people

I think he will get burnt if he goes to the Giants and Skins where he's asked to play man

he just bites too much

now in a soft zone like our's, he could have the space he needs to see the WR better, and could actually be good using his burst to jump routes

nothing could help us more than to have him end up on a division foe...he sux dude

How is that not beneficial for the Cowboys?

because he's a lousy player and a team cancer...I prefer our young guys to this clown, I'm sure our front office will too

Apparently not.

I don't know what exactly it would take.

maybe seeing a Commander WR run by him for a 60 yd TD and then seeing 1000 posts of "I told you so"
