Cmon, hockey guys. It's bad enough we didn't have a thread for the draft a week or so ago. Let's get some FA chatter going.

I'm hearing the Pens have a very good chance of landing both Parise and Suter.

I will weap in my Flyers rally towel if that were to happen.

Crosby, Malkin, Parise, Suter. Mommy.

I'm growing tired of being an Islanders fan. Frustrating to say the least.

What made you an Islanders fan instead of the big brother Rangers?

Well, it all started by getting an Mike Bossy Islander jersey for my birthday. My mom bought it and my brother and good friend were Ranger fans and laughed at me, because they thought she had purchased the wrong one. Little did they know that I hated the Rangers anyways.

At that time I was still young and didn't really understand the game, so instead of saying mom why didn't I get an Rangers jersey I then said thank you for the Islander jersey.

From that point on the Islanders as I'm sure you know went on to win consecutive Stanley Cups. They even gave the Rangers fits every time they played. Been an Islanders fan ever since even though they have been horrible for decades now. I'm always waiting for next year to come just to be disappointed. Hopefully that'll change sometime soon. It's hard to follow hockey when your team is that bad.

The Islanders need to improve their depth on the front and their blue lines. If they do this we might actually compete this year.

Not sure what to think about what the Stars are doing.

Are the stars doing anything? Souray was signed by the Ducks I believe.

Jagr going to Dallas for $4.5 mil.

Me thinks they way over paid.

Jagr lost a lot of steam as the season went on and he didn't seem to be as effective against tight-checking teams.

I'm not unhappy that Philly didn't resign him.

The Pens could sign both Suter and Parise, but that's going to be a lot of coin (probably $160 mil for both players) and a ton of cap space being used up.

The Buffalo News did a study on guys that change teams via free agency and by a wide margin guys suffer a drop in production when they change teams.

Yea, from what im hearing the Flyers don't expect to land either player, even though they put in the highest money offers for both guys. Just trying to drive up the price supposedly, and word is Suter doesn't want to play in any markets where the media scrutiny is high.

I would love a guy like Parise here, but not for 12 years 100 mil. Enough with the ridiculous contracts. They're really getting out of hand. You'd think we would learn a lesson after the Pronger and Bryz deals.

Parise and Suter are supposed to announce their decisions today. Odd that the Flyers aren't considered a favorite for either considering they supposedly have the biggest offers on both.

I expect Suter to go to Detroit. Parise to either stay in NJ or go to Pittsburgh. Then the Flyers will make that trade for Ryan, costing them Read, a 1st round pick and maybe even more.

I'd be totally against that trade but I don't see Holmgren standing pat after missing out on Parise and watching Jagr bolt to Dallas for the money.

If I were the Flyers or any other team for that matter, I would also be concerned with the cap not actually being $70 mil when the season starts.

Depending on how the CBA shakes out, several mil could be whittled from that amount.

I wouldn't be big on that trade either.

I don't have any qualms about the Flyers losing Jagr. I think that $4 mil is better used elsewhere.

There are now reports that the Wild could land both Parise and Suter. Which would be a major upset, IMO.

Just keep them away from Pittsburgh. That's all I care about.
