What does the PK have to do with being an even player?

But he doesn't.. he played mainly even strength and PP minutes.. and put up 40 points.
Im much happier not paying him the money and playing Gustafsson, Bourdon, or even Syvret in his place.

I think Schenn is a good defenseman who automatically upgrades the Flyer defensive corps and will bring a little more toughness to a unit that needs it.
JVR could become a consistent 30 goals per year guy. He has loads of talent but every time you would think he was going to take the next step, he'd be injured or something would be going on.
Up to this point he's been a tease.
I hope the trade shakes him up a little and turns him into the player many thought he would be last season.

Even if a player is on the PK for 3 goals in a game, his +/- will stay at 0.

Derekmtl85;4611578 said:Pretty much my thoughts on the situation too, Schenn is a heart and soul type player, at 18 he was fighting guys for his teammates. Good team guy, and he could be a top shutdown d-man in the league.
I like JVR though, i agree with Risen Star too, good trade for both teams, but Schenn was definitely a fan favorite because of his attitude on and off the ice.
Risen Star;4612044 said:Well, I think it's an even trade right now. We'll see if it stays even. Schenn could be legit and JVR could always be an injury prone tease. Or JVR could blossom into one of the better scorers in the league and Schenn might not pan out.
To me this was a case of two teams swapping players they expected more of, hoping a change of scenery makes a difference. I think if both teams were being honest they'd admit they're a little worried that they might have given up a future star.
I've seen some Flyers fans making the case that now that Luke's with his brother he'll play better. I don't buy that.

It looks like they're gonna sit on their cap room and hope the young guys mature. Maybe make a run at next year's FA class which is projected to be stronger.
If it were me, I'd make some kind of move for a goalie. Bryz and Leighton just doesn't give me hope for next year. You have to have Bryz for right now, but you can at least have a better backup behind him.

I don't see much out there in goalie land that intrigues me for the back-up position.

Risen Star;4621559 said:According to the players union, they are willing to start the season without a new deal. They saw how much damage was done with the lockout. They don't want to go there again.
MichaelWinicki;4622322 said:That's from the player's perspective.
From the owners... I'm starting to smell a lockout.
Risen Star;4623751 said:But speaking strictly for myself, considering our goaltenders, I'm for a multi-year strike.
