And now the Minnesota Tribune is reporting Suter has agreed to terms with the Wild.

This has to mean Parise is going to follow, otherwise it makes no sense for Suter to choose the Wild over the Red Wings.

Oh well. Props to the Flyers for making a huge push to land both big fish. It's all you can ask for from your team.

Now watch the Flyers completely over pay for Carle.

Then again, they would have over paid Suter as well.

Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Lock-out coming soon again, if these 13 year deals continue.

I hope the next CBA includes a limit of years per contract, because this is getting ridiculous again.

Side not, i'm glad they went to the western conference.

Agreed.

I'm not disappointed in the Flyers.

It's being reported that each guy is getting a 13 year/$98 mil contract.

You gotta give the Wild props for aggressiveness.

And it hurts NJ.

Sweet. :)

Yep, 13 year deals, 7.5M cap hit each.

Now watch Semin and Carle get paid huge money by the teams who missed out on Suter and Parise (AKA Detroit/Pittsburgh/Philly)

And watch the Nash/Luongo sweepstakes heat up now that the 2 big UFA stars signed.

The first Domino has fallen.

Yep, i love it.

I've hated NJ since the day they started their back-up goalie and lost to the NYI on the last day of the season, which made NYI take the 8th seed, while the Leafs finished 1 point back of them...:(

Hang on to your hats, Flyer faithful. They're about to make a bold move and ink D Bruno Gervais.

Suck on that, Minnesota.

Flyers fan? What did you think of the JVR trade?

As a Leaf fan, i was a big fan of Schenn, on and off the ice the guy is pure Leader and heart.

Only problem is he is pretty slow, has a tough time reading plays some times. But he was one of my favorite players.

This Flyer's fan thinks JVR has a much higher threshold then Schenn.

I think Schenn is a good defenseman who automatically upgrades the Flyer defensive corps and will bring a little more toughness to a unit that needs it.

JVR could become a consistent 30 goals per year guy. He has loads of talent but every time you would think he was going to take the next step, he'd be injured or something would be going on.

Up to this point he's been a tease.

I hope the trade shakes him up a little and turns him into the player many thought he would be last season.

Rather have him than Carle to be honest for the money that they both will be paid next year. They are similar players. We still have Gusto and Bourdon improving as well and both were solid in the minutes they got last season.

Carle will be vastly overpaid by some team and be a marginal player for them next season. Rather wait and make a run at Weber next offseason.

Glad we didn't get Suter either for that matter. No more ridiculous contracts. Suter never would have come here anyway though. Homer's offer may be the reason both guys arn't in Pittsburgh right now.

I honestly think it was about as even a trade as you can get. Two guys the same age, drafted pretty much in the same area, and have had pretty similar careers so far. They've flashed but have been largely inconsistent.

Of course I fear we traded away a future 30 goal scorer. On the flip side, you might have traded away a legitimate shutdown D.

I can't say I love or hate it right now.

Thankfully, i can report that Carle has signed with Tampa Bay on a six year deal worth an average of 5.5 mil a year.

Wasn't worth that, we knew it. Im fine with letting him go. Wasn't that great for us last year anyway. Give Gusto or Bourdon a shot to be with the club all year.

Agreed.

Too much money for his level of production.

Yea, i mean when you have a 40 point season as a Dman and you rarely play on the PK and you're an even player, there's some problems there.
