I wouldn't mind seeing Foles being acquired by Dallas in the slightest but the cost of doing so might easily be too much for the C'boys to digest. Other teams with a lot more money under the cap to invest in Foles will be bidding for his services. I think Dallas will probably bow out early-on.

Foles=progress stopper....

You would be taking snaps away from Moore...who could use the time to develope.

Kills me how so many complained about wanting to get KM more reps last year...and now that the time is here...Let's throw another cog into the works.

And then you have Prescott....

So you want to ****** his progress by taking away his snaps too? Talk about not having any direction...and just keep throwing darts @ a wall hoping something sticks.

That would be a complete waste of another draft choice.:banghead:

Could Foles come here and be part of the mix? Sure...but I really think you are getting too many cooks in the kitchen....and that's not a good thing....;)

Develop into what? He has no arm, too much speed in the NFL to continue his college success.

I don't think a QB has a season like Foles had in 2013 purely by accident... the talent is there, we just haven't been able to see it these past couple of years (though in 2014 he would have made a decent backup). Could the wheels have just fallen off in STL like they so often do? Could we get some of that talent back? Either way I think he would be worth seeing in training camp, because if Romo goes down we aren't going anywhere with Moore.

The people against this....you did see us play with Matt Casell and Kellen Moore last year right?

Cassel wasn't bad because he's old. He was bad because he didn't take care of the football. Foles is younger, but he's not very good.

I'm also not so sure Moore can't actually handle the job. I just want him to have to win it. If that ends up being with him competing with Foles, fine. As I said, he's not my choice, but then there aren't a lot of better choices on the market now anyway.

Cassel failed because he arm became a noodle.....don't know if it was injuries or age but his deep throw was pathetic.....and that is the exact problem with KMoore.....Foles isn't known for having a rifle but he has the size and experience that KMoore doesn't...even a small upgrade would be worth it and I think it would be a huge upgrade

Maybe the Jets will get him and we can get Fitz out of spite

It's not just a question of how good Foles is.......the question should be if he's better than Kellen Moore and I think that's a no brainer at this point.

I don't think it's no brainer at all. I don't even like Moore but I think people who think Foles is much better than Moore probably haven't seen Foles play in awhile and are just looking at his stat line from 2013.

Again, if you want to bring him to compete............ fine. I can live with that. Prove me wrong. But if the Cowboys end up throwing 2, 3, 4 million at him to be a backup........... yuck.

If our FO balks at signing Foles, I'd expect them to do the same with regards to Fitz.

We really appear to be deeply immersed in the Ebenezer Scrooge mode these days.

Everyone is judging Foles on his time in ST. Louis. He's a good QB and would do great here....

Great may be a little overstated. But he would be an upgrade at backup QB, I just dont think its worth a bidding war. On top of that if Romo isnt playing the Cowboys likely wont go very far anyway. Maybe its better at that point to be in position to grab a higher draft pick for our future qb.

How much do you guys think he will cost anyway? He costs 8.5 million last year I think, but his value seriously went into decline and he will no longer be considered a starter by any team. I don't think any team is going to guarantee that much. Maybe 3 million?

I can't believe he left without some sort of handshake from some team. Maybe promised a fair shot as the starter. Jets.

It was largely by accident. Guys had career years that year all over that offense. Riley Cooper went from 23 catches and a bum to a 47 catch and TD threat in 2013. McCoy had his best year as a pro in 2013. So did Desean Jackson. That offense took the league by surprise. He went 27 TDs and 2 interceptions. Rodgers doesn't do that. Brady doesn't do that. It was such a preposterous stat line that it is likely just a fluke.

He really doesn't have a lot of talent. He's got a middling arm at best. He's as mobile as armored truck. He has so-so pocket awareness. When teams started coming after the QB with more blitzes to combat Kelly's offense, he really started to struggle with reads, pocket awareness, etc.

I wouldn't pay him more than $2MM and I certainly wouldn't get in a bidding war over him.

Foles deep ball is awful.

Cassel threw way too many picks on contested routes. Especially this sideline balls that ended as easy pick-sixes and got us beat. It wasn't arm strength. He just didn't take care of the ball.

Jets just signed Fitzpatrick to a one year deal.

Foles played well as a system QB for Chip and I think he's still young with very little tread. I think he's far better than Moore and this team should be looking to upgrade where possible, especially at the back=up QB position.

I don't the team cares to upgrade.

Linehan has his boy in Moore. And there is Dak Prescott.

Nobody is interested in muddying the waters with a veteran.

That would mean they would actually have to have a, gulp, competition for at the most important position on the field.

I dont know how you judge any QB in a Chip Kelly system. They snap the ball quickly to keep the defense off balance and Chip tells the QB who to throw to as soon as they line up based on coverage. It can make any QB look much better than they actually are as all they need is an arm to make a throw, legs to run and has limited responsibility to read the defense.
