Nine defensive linemen added that didn't play a down last year?

Thanks for saying that. I don't understand why people want Brent back. Also, it's time to move on from Spencer.

I don't want him back.

Put him next to Melton and it's right back to the 'thugs and hoodlums' that Parcells never had time for.

And a desperate team selling out their morals because they lack talent and cap space.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I do not particularly want him back simply because, well, he is not special enough to deal with even the temporary flap over allowing him to return.

Does anyone actually feel we cannot simply draft a nose tackle as good, if not better, even in the middle rounds?

Why would we want to rely on him in any way?

Agreed. Off topic, but I really like Kony Ealy, DE from Missouri. I want to see what Marinelli can do with some talented guys.

I'm leary of him. He had similar measurable to Sam and his numbers weren't good... all near the bottom of the class.

I don't think we ever put the resources into getting an actual nose tackle type anyway.

Like offensive line, it's not 'flashy enough'.

Agreed there too.
But a dude that big and strong isn't likely to suffer like a skill player would.
There is little to do in prison (or heck house arrest even) except eat and lift weights.

Being a fatty that can strop the run seems a pretty easy task for a man the size of an outhouse.

He won't be a fatty coming out of prison. They don't feed the sheer number of calories to maintain that weigh unless he's become the type of person to take other peoples food in which case I wouldn't want him.

"A friend told me" yeah that's it... a friend. :D Seriously tho, I have a family member and have met and talked with a couple of other people who were "big" people going in and and not so much coming out. To be fair it wasn't for 180 days but I can't help but think he isn't going to eat as well or as much in prison nor be able to work out with the same efficiency he would get a t Valley Ranch.

Regarding Brent, he's coming back, folks, sooner or later. Might as well accept it.

Jerry hasn't invested this much time and energy to Brent, not to mention letting him hang around and work out at Valley Ranch, to just ditch him when he's released from his six-months in the pokey.

You really think Jerry is going to harshly judge a man because he drinks too much? He's more likely to speak out against plastic surgery.

I do not either. He was an "okay" player. But ever since he has been gone, the level of his play is being remembered as much better than it actually was.

Actually, he was playing pretty good before his accident. Not dominant but he was pretty damned solid and much better than 90% of the guys we trotted out there last season. With Melton on board Brent would be a decent rotation guy at the 1 tech if he could return to form (which is another issue altogether).

I don't think the Cowboys are hanging their hat on Brent in any way, shape, or form but I do think think there is a slight chance that he could be brought into the fold.

As to his punishment coming down from the league, Brent has been "retired" from the NFL for a bit, now. "Time served", I don't believe, would be accrued for a retired player.
