If they had not drafted Davis with the 13th pick, the Eagles would have signed Hargrave to a big contract. Can't spend $84 million on a nose tackle when you just spent a first-round pick on a nose tackle. It was an excess of riches thing, even though the Eagles don't know if Davis is going to ever be as good as Hargrave.
