Mike G, you really hate Black Republicans don't you?I guess you feel the same way Black Democrats do- that no black should be allowed to be either Conservative or Republican. SO much for tolerance and freedom from those that like to boast of being so tolerant and wanting freedom for all.

Sorry, I wont allow you to label me and put me in some type of "category"...

How does me not caring for Black Republicans equate to intolerance and wanting to deny freedom?

This country is founded on this little phrase/principle called "The Loyal Opposition"...go look it up.

Hint:It give me the right to disagree with individuals who dont beleive as I do without having to HATE them or whatever little label or category you are trying to throw me in.

I have a question for the mods.

HOW in gawds name does this thread stay on this board, when any other thread that even remotely mentions politics or religion is closed within 15 mins?

HEADS UP

I have moved the two race threads to the off topic zone as they have been all over the map in topics.

Most have done a great job of keeping things civil and without letting things get out of hand.

However I would ask for people to keep a couple of things in mind.

1. Do NOT circumvent the language filter...in other words do not use curse words or do not change curse words to get past the filter.

2. Do not start calling each other names and using personal insults.

3. Do not turn this thread into a political.

Thanks a great deal and thanks to those keeping a civil manner during talks about a topic that can normally turn nasty.

Thanks again.

Because I am a white republican, although I lean to the center. Iv'e also had the pleasure of meeting Mick in person. Very nice man to say the least. Well spoken, intelligent, and thoughtfull. Also had the pleasure of meeting his young daughter. One of the best behaved children Iv'e seen in quite some time. Cute as a bug too. Bravo to you Mick, and how youv'e raised your daughter. I truly mean that. Believe me guys, the world needs all the MickGreens it can get. Yes Mick, it was me who invited you to the cookout when our Cowboys played the Giants. Hope all is well with you and yours......

Jesse Jackson and those like him are welfare pimps. they have no interest in the Black population getting out of poverty because then they have no job or influence.

Which is why more and more blacks are starting to turn aginst Jackson.

Blame George Bush and many of the heads of Fortune 500 Companies such as Dell for that. Bush and most of these guys are for Offshoring and moving jobs to India and Asia for economic benefits.

And to add, you continue to take my comments way out of context. I offer up one example, and then you pass it off as me saying All Whites are doing well.

Although studies do show Whites, poor or rich are doing better than most minorities.

Heck, I was watching Howard Stern about a year ago and found out there is even racism in Porn.

Racism is alive and well, like Joe Friday use to say, "That's just the facs ma'am".

I didn't mean to imply YOU meant that...but more to address the perception. I should have made that clearer. I don't want to put words in your mouth, as that would be Schticking.....and oh, how I despise Schticking. My apology for not making things clearer.

As BP stated, nobody has gotten out of hand in this thread and all are providing some good points.

On a side note...if anyone DOES want to talk about the politics and how it relates to racism please do so at www.politicalzone.org.

We could always use some more people talking there and there is PLENTY of things that could be said in politics and racism.

Queen Latifah....In like 1990.
Mars, please don't answer definitively like this if you don't really know the answer. I know you don't mean any harm, but it besmirches the name of Queen Latifah when you incorrectly attribute a quote like this to her.

It was Sista Souljah (and it was in 1991 or 92).

It was a noteworthy quote because Bill Clinton made a lot of political hay by publicizing and then condemning the remarks, portraying himself as a "New" Democrat.

Thats right- I remember the whole sistah soulja thing- I always wondered if that was staged just to get Billy Boy that publicity. Latifah= I don't remember her saying such. But I kind of tune out any celebrity as soon as they start the political spew- their stupidity is really appalling.

Thank you for correcting the mistake. Unlike most people around here, I am prone to make them. It was either as best I could remember or the description led me to answer that, either way....thanks and don't let it wad your panties if you can help it.

Your not alone in your assumption. The way the post was worded, you couldn't help but think of Latifah. Even though I didn't recall her saying it, considering it was so long ago, I couldn't dispute it.

Now that DW mentioned Sista Soulja, I could DEFINITELY see her saying something like that. Tho most may disagree, she's an interesting bird. I've heard her speak and read some of her books, she's not completely to the left.

Just like Trent Lott, a known racist and Robert Byrd, a former member of the KKK are in the United States Senate, but I dont see them being removed from office...

It goes both ways....

- Mike G.

Trent Lott is no more a "known racist" than you or I. The man commented at Strom Thurmond's B-Day party that "Things would be different if he'd have won in '48" or something to that affect.

Thurmond ran as a "Dixiecrat". They did support the abomination that was segragation (much like Gore's father or Clinton's mentor) but they were also strong states-rights proponents (very much like Lott).

For this he's painted by the media as a "racist".

Now Byrd on the other hand was and is a racist scumbag. He wasn't just a member of the KKK, he was a leader. He also dropped the "n" bomb on a Sunday morning show a few years back.
