The two greatest RBs in Cowboys history weren't even the 1st RBs taken in their draft classes.

Blair Thomas was picked before Emmitt Smith.

Ricky Bell was picked before Tony Dorsett.

Maybe the back taken after McFadden will be pretty good too.
LaDanian Tomlinson was the 1st back taken in his Draft.

Adrian Peterson the first in his.

Reggie Bush in his.

Ronnie Brown in his.

Steven Jackson in his.

Edgerin James in his.

Marshall Faulk in his.

Barry Sanders in his.

OJ Simpson in his.

Bo Jackson in his.

Eric Dickerson in his.

George Rogers in his.

Billy Sims in his.

Earl Campbell in his.

Walter Payton in his.

Franco Harris in his.

John Riggins in his.

Larry Csonka in his.

Charley Taylor in his.

John Henry Johnson in his.

Alan Ameche in his.

The top RB taken doesn't always flop or get surpassed by someone taken later.

I'm not busting on McFadden; I'm trying to be optimistic here.

I don't there is much of a chance that the Cowboys will be able to use the Browns pick to nab McFadden, but it could be that the running back who falls to the Cowboys turns out to be pretty good too....

I find it interesting that the Cowboys, throughout their entire history, have never taken the 1st RB that was drafted in any draft. The Cowboys have drafted RBs in the first round before, of course, but I'm pretty sure that at no time was the Cowboys RB the first RB taken in the draft.

True but TD was the 2nd overall pick. Ricky Bell and TD were both looked at as guys who could go as the overall #1. Tampa took Bell and Dallas worked a deal for TD to take him 2 but for all practical purpose TD had just as much of a chance as going 1 overall in the eyes of many scouts

I didn't think you were busting on him.

I just wanted to point out that some of the best RBs in NFL History happened to be the first guy taken when they came out.

BTW, had Herschell Walker not gone to the USFL he would have been the overall #1 RB in his draft class. IMO. Which means we never would have gotten him. Just an observation.

Malcom Jenkins is AWESOME. He will be a very good corner. One part of that ridiculous Ohio State defense.

I have gotten to see 2 games from OU and he showed up both times though the annoucers kept giving props to Kelly... but when OU needed a play they went to Iglesias that tells me what I need to know.

I still think Rice is gonna be a better pro and for longer than McFadden...I can't really tell you why...there is just something about McFadden that screams to me... hands off... I just can't tell you what it is exactly
Amen a voice of reason. Too many people are getting enamored with McFadden.
