Sucks bigtime Catch! :(

A 4th round rookie just went 13-3! How can that be topped??
Yeah, in 2007 Cowboys had an undrafted free agent go 13-3 in his first full yr as a starter and lose the first playoff game as #1 seed. I guess we need an undrafted rookie to go 16-0 and lose the first playoff game.

This one was tough because they fought so hard to get back in the game. Just like 2007, Home Field Advantage and it's one game and done. The offense will still be good. Goodbye Brice Butler. I'm done with that guy. Had a couple plays he could of and should of made but didn't. I know Terrance isn't everyone's favorite but I will take him over Butler. They know they need defensive help. Obviously they have to get some big-time Defensive Ends to rush the passer but they have to get that secondary fixed too. I don't know if Jones is the answer at safety. I just don't. But they got to get some cornerbacks. I like Brown but after him, Who's left that you're excited about. I hope for the best next year but I don't have a lot of confidence. This team hasn't proved they can be a consistent winning team for 20 years.

Very depressed myself. Ultimate failure. I did like the way Dak fought back however tonight. We just came out flat like we did against Detroit, but this was a playoff game. Had the offense not settled for field goals we would have won.

Had the defense showed up we would have won!

I like the idea of using Romo to move up into the top 7 by sending him and our first to a bad team for their first.

That being said, we will play a tougher schedule ( on paper at the moment ) and we will lose a few players to FA. WIll we find a starter in FA?

I doubt we win 13 games next time but who knows. After winning in Pittsburgh and in OT against Philly, I thought this was our year.

Why would a bad team trade for an aging QB and lower first rounder? Never happen.

#1 seed years with first rounds byes and 2 meaningless games to end the year don't come often unless you're the Pats. This really hurts.

This team was fading. Lost three of its last five. Throw out the Eagles game and they were still only .500 over their last four games.

The coulda, woulda, shoulda's are going to be flying all around during the off season. We all need to understand the bigger picture here. I said SEVERAL times this year that I felt we were still a year or 2 away, and I still stand by that. Next year is epic for this teams future. Do we build on this year and come back a better, hungrier team, or do we become the Panthers of last year? Don't get caught up in the 13 wins this year. This was not a dominant team. We could be 10-6 next year and be a much better team than this year. My hope is that this team will be "in the hunt" for the next ten years, like McNabbs Eagles but not squander those years like the Eagles did. Dominate dominate dominate should be next years "finish the fight". Like Jerry said today, there are no moral victories out of this loss. DOMINATE

This team will look a lot different. Carr, Church, and Wilcox are all FA's. Leary and Twill are as well. Carolina went 15-1 and at least got to the SB. How did thay turn out this season??

My first move, outside of the Romo trade to Houston? Sign Leary and can Crawford!
Can we trade Romo for Watt or Clowney?

Giants, Commanders, and Eagles all feel like they have bright futures as well.

Eli just turned 36 and showed huge signs of decline this last year.

The Commanders will always suck, sometimes they just suck less than the rest of the division.

The Eagles are the real competition.

Agree 100%. I said something similar in another thread. It reminds me of 2007, where they blew a #1 seed in the first game, but I thought the future was bright. We all know what happened in the years after that. You can't assume you will be back.

Exactly. There's a laundry list of teams who lost a SB or in the playoffs and thought for sure they'd be back. I would bet Dolphins fans were counting not if, but how many trophies Dan Marino would bring to Miami after they lost the Super Bowl but it never happened.

Nothing is for sure in the NFL. We just blew a golden opportunity.

Just gotta wait until Rodgers retires. It's gonna take about 3-4 years but once he's gone, I will take our chances with Dak vs. anyone else in the NFC. And probably the AFC too once Brady retires.

We've got a defense to build...that doesn't happen overnight. Lawrence and Gregory not turning out to be the duo we needed set us back defensively.

Dak is not one of my worries. Losing players to free agency is a bigger deal, but we'all hopefully have an upgraded defense. Really looking for to see Jaylon Smith play.

Injuries are another unforeseen issue.

There aren't many players we'll lose who aren't replaceable. Leary is about the only one on my list. Pretty much all the other FAs are jags to me.

Our franchise quarterback is like 22 and our running back is a generational talent. We're going to be just fine.

Leary is awesome and they need to sign him.. bench Free and start Collins at RT. The defense has to be revamped.

I'm still in the Romo train until he's actually gone. If he goes to Houston, they can be downright scary. They didn't have Watt and he will be back and Clowney cane on this year like a number 1 pick and Mercilus is a beast.

The Rams will be a team to watch, because of all that defensive talent and Wade becoming their D.C.

Not with this coaching staff and this defense. I honestly think regular season awards are the ceiling.

For all those worried about free agents, this organization is coming off what could be the best draft in NFL history (and the 2nd pick didn't play a snap this year). It's a good time to be a Cowboys fan. I have a great deal of confidence.

If Houston figures out a way to get Romo I think they become among the favorites in the AFC.

This was a season where things were in our favor, no doubt it was a magical season. Not sure about you all but I believed Dallas was heading to the Super Bowl, this was the year to get it done. For the majority of the season we avoided injuries to key players, we won the close games, no drama with the media. Looking to next year Philly, NY, and Washington will all be better. No gaurantee we make the playoff but i like our chances. It sucks that the 2016 season comes to an end, really, really sucks.
