Pretty funny that I started this thread in the morning - Hawaii time, (yesterday) and the same day stories start coming out at the golf outing. The photo's I saw of Randy, he looks a little bigger but not a whole lot. We will just have to wait and see at the first OTA's that he can participate in.
Not getting into the Gregory bashing that seams to be going on. Hope for the young man to get his act together, not putting a lot of faith behind it.
Makes for an interesting read tho .....

i'm likely doing the same thing.

but from my own experience there really isn't too many reasons to smoke pot outside of the ... obvious. if it's an escape then we all have them and he chose this. if not - then who cares. whatever the reason is it would be hard to fathom it being worth a multi-million dollar NFL career.

Are you really going to argue that there is not an economic incentive for police to keep the drug war? Are you going to argue that police are better able to determine the effects of marijuana than science and medicine?

I have said repeatedly that he should be held to the same standard as his teammates. I think the NFLs drug policy should change. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive even if it is beyond your ability.

I am not sure one way or another what if any disorder he has. I am just not going to discount it out of hand because I want to punish people.

outside of just pointing out hypocracy and my own part in it, i'm not crying about much of anything. he's on the team, he smokes, he needs to quit it, end of story.

since as far as i know NONE of us know him personally, we all seem to be projecting our views on this situation and trying to make this situation fit our views.

Law enforcement makes you biased not objective. Your profession is dependent on the drug war and it's why the FOP push back against science on the regular.

Addiction is classified by several factors that pot just doesn't meet. It is what it is. Self medication implies they have a disorder and does not imply addiction. Addicts feed their addiction.
