There's credence in your words. Again, no one in the NFCE owns the Eagles! And I'm surprised one of your statisticians haven't stepped forward ...you may learn something different than you expected from the last 5 years teams have played in our division.

Using the same logic as some have ...do the Skins own the Cowboys?

Your post specifically indicated 2005 there Brainiac!

Can't change your rules to suit your weak claims.

And then you want to try to talk about the Eag;es' "glory days"?

Those 5 wonderful years where they won -

Oh, that's right...........

0 Championships!

Yeah, the good 'ol days, huh?

Good times..............Good Times........

That doesn't help our point out any.

We lost to the Raiders. The Eagles won.
You could argue we needed a miracle to beat the Chargers as well.

And we also lost to the Broncos (though, we weren't dominated)

we lost to the raiders at oakland and it was lack of execution on that last play by bledsoe when witten was wide open
it was no miracle we beat san diego, it was good execution at the end of the game, not a ridiculously blocked field goal followed by a lucky bounce that went right to the fastest eagle player on the field who was halfway to the end zone when the ball came his way, followed by a hidious fumble at the end.

and we could have just as easily beat the broncos, the eagles got DOMINATED by them

i think the eagles were pretty healthy and in full health up until the Commanders game when TO got suspended, so you cant argue that they were hurt, when TO and MCchoke were both playing. and as getting owned, the broncos and cowboys owned them in the first game at texas stadium, and you can say that the falcons owned you too

sorry talon, i like you but the eagles got owned early and late last year both healthy and banged up

Reflecting back to 2005, I can't honestly accept that anyone in the NFCE actually owned the Philadelphia Eagles! Oh, just about everyone beat us up, slap us, spanked us and beat us down pretty bad -- but you don't own us!

I guess you could argue that owning equates to the scroe board, or sweeping us at your house and at the Linc. However, my interpretation of "owning" goes beyond winning numbers on a score board. In my view, owning a team is a mentality; it's an expectation that two healthy teams met on the grid iron, both evenly matched ...mano-e-mano, your "A" team against our "A" team.

Of course I expect resistence about my perspective. But if your best is injured, you have to send in a replacement, but you don't have expectations that they will perform at the exact same level as your best.

Then they'll be those who'll say ..."a win is a win!" "we got the W," or our team was just a better team! And you know what ...it's absolutely correct! I'm not trying to say that you didn't have better teams in 2005, I'm just saying that you didn't play the best that the Philadelphia Eagles have to offer.

But owning us is something that no one did in 2005. The Cowboys, Commanders & Giants got an easy ride on the 2005 NFCE Regular Season. That said, even in 2005, the way through to the NFCE Championship playoffs came through the Eagles; remember that game where if we won the Cowboys would have made the playoffs ...but the Skins tweaked out (even injured, we gave them a game) a victory.

So, I say to you that aside from what the Skins did in the FA, TO, and anyone else ...the road to the 2006 NFCE Championship playoffs is through a
healthy Philadelphia Eagles!

We're your real test to determine just how tough the NFC-East has really become in the last two years.

A TRUE Glutton for punishment you are PT! No point whatsover in starting this thread... what was to come from this? NOTHING... except you getting toasted....

I agree, but the original post is about last year. That was all I was addressing.

But the concept encompasses previous years also! The other poster is right on point!

OK, OK....

Congrats Pheonix Talon.

You are right. The Dallas Cowboys do not own the Philadelphia Eagles. They own the Dallas Cowboys.

Ownership implies possessing.

We do not possess the Eagles. You are correct.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Seriously. The schtick is tired, played out....lame.

I could appreciate the schtick.

This is something far worse. And it has to do with some sort of brain trauma, I am sure.

Someone tell this guy I'm no fool for wanting to give me team an even chance. Someone tell this person that there are clips of *** whooopins that have occurred throughout 2000 - 2004. Someone tell this poster that he doesn't have to sling out names to make his point! And finally, someone tell this fan that one *** whooopin does not ownership make!

I have squabbled with you before PT. "fool" was used as a slang word, not as a derogatory comment.
I thought the thread was No one Owned the Eagles in 2005! That game.....and a couple others, you were OWNED.
Philly's NFCE crown was taken away. Get over it, and look forward for a much more improved NFCE.

what's the point of this thread? semantics?

I actually appreciate your asking for clarification.

The only point is that I'm looking forward to a very exciting 2006 rgeular season, where my team has another opportunity to prove/disprove that the 2005 Eagles season was something that could happen to any team and shouldn't denote ownership by an team in the NFCE.

If any team steps onto the field thinking that the Eagles will be anything like the 2005 showing ...they have a lesson coming!

The Eagles are healthy, stronger, larger and have depth. We have just as much talent as some and even more talent than others.

Kind of like when the NFC East was terrible, sans you guys....

The Eagles got an easy ride from 2000-2004, right? Or does that not apply....?

I see you're a thinking man! Why yes ...it is the same.

And while I don't have a problem with that ...the exception is that you're comparing the 2005 regular season against 4-years retrospectively.

You're right Phoenix, the Eagles were not owned by the Cowboys last season...they were completely and utterly PWNED!

That ...I cannot deny ...but not owned! Now how many "pwned!!!" equal an ownership?

I am not trying to prove anything really.

However, healthy, or unhealthy, you were owned, pwned, pwnted, pwn, any any other variation by teams last season.

We too faced injuries last season.

Do we "own" this Eagle team? Absolutely not. Its a different team than last year's team. Much like we are a different team too.

However, its not unreasonable to say we owned last year's Eagles teams....nor for you to say that, historically, in the 2000-era, you have owned us.
