How is their window closing?

They have a good OL, with youth at ever position EITHER starting or eventually going to start.

They have a nice DL rotation with youth.

LB is an area of concern.

Their secondary is pretty young.

As is RB. McNabb is 30. WR's aren't great....

If anything, our window is closing. Bledsoe, Glenn, and Owens are getting up there. We don't have any youth OL that look like eventual replacements at LT, RG. Kosier is an unknown, shaky center play.....

The Eagles window to win something substantial was WIDE OPEN for around 4 or 5 years in a row, and they did not take advantage!

That window is now closing, can't you see that? Everyone else in the NFCE is getting stronger by the minute...therefore, I don't care what Eaglet names you throw out there, there is no more calkwalk like they were used too...

Thus, the window is closing...get it?

I also love how the "locker room" excuse is thrown around after the season is over.
"Oh, the Eagles would have been soooo much better if there had been harmony in the locker room". Yeah.

They also would have been better if they weren't so bad.

Chew on that. :)

That's exactely right! That's the logic he's trying to use! He says the road to the NFCE is through a healthy Eagle team? :lmao: If that makes him have sweet dreams....then go for it, PT...dream on, baby!

last time i checked, the ea-girls were awfully healthy when they came to dallas in october. and they still had a healthy mcnabb in november (which, according to many ea-girls fans, is all they need to be good again. so i think we need to count that game too.)

look...it ain't our fault you had 4 solid chances to win a title and kept coming up short.

but that's no reason to throw up all over our board all day long.

Their opportunity to win a championship has come and gone.

They were a 4-5 team before McNabb and the rest were injured. And they were fortunate to have won in 3 of those games.

They have young players at OL - nothing more. Nobody knows what those players can do until they play.

McNabb has seen his best days. He'll never be the scarambler who kept drives alive with his legs again - regardless of his age. And his receiving corps is beyond average.

The secondary is young, but questions abound.

Sheppard was a target last season after a Pro Bowl nod. Which is the real level of his talent? 2004 or 2005?

Dawkins is entering the final year of his contract. Will he be taken care of or booted like the rest?

Michael Lewis will also be a restricted free agent. Will they pony up the money to keep him?

There are some young players on the defensive line, but what have they proven?

Just because Bunkley and Patterson were high draft picks doesn't mean they're ticketed for greatness.

And the linebackers are more than a "concern". Other than Trotter, they were subpar last season and now rely on oft-injured Shawn Barber to step in.

Kearse and Howard don't scare me as they had 10 1/2 sacks combined last season.

The Eagles were a "good" team in a poor NFC for 4 years. That day has passed. They're now a "good" team in the league's "best" division.

Same can be said for Kosier, Johnson/Gurode (well, as far as being good), and Pettiti

Which is the level of Newman's talent? 2004 or 2005? Or really, we could have asked this last year, after his 2004 season...which is his real talent, 2003 or 2004?

There are some young players on the defensive line, but what have they proven?

Canty, Spears, Ratliff, Johnson, Stanley, Hatcher have proven nothing more. But we have no problem in relying on them.

Just because Bunkley and Patterson were high draft picks doesn't mean they're ticketed for greatness.
Again, you can use that on Spears, Canty, Carpenter, Hatcher, etc.

OK? Would you trade the Cowboys squad as it stands today for the Eagle squad as they stand today?

This should be interesting?

You certainly have a different definition of owned than me. October 9th, 2005 at Texas Stadium is about as owned as 1 team can get in the NFL in my opinion.

Your offense musters an entire 3 points!
A total of 129 yards and a total of 5 offensive first downs (1 came due to penalty). Punted the ball EIGHT times out of the total 11 times the offense had the ball... 1 of those 3 non-punting possessions ended at halftime on their own 26.

In case the stats don't show enough... here's a nice video of the domination:
http://www.bnbathletics.com/cowboysvids/phil05-g1-highlightvid.avi
50MB... divx codec required (www.divx.com)
(take it easy on the critique... that was the 2nd highlight video I ever made :))

OL, yes.

LB, no.

DL, no, bec. they don't have the 3-4 DL we need to run our 3-4.

And this is irrelevant. I just wanted to make sure I understand correctly. We can count on our young guys to be immediate impact players. But we should not count on opposing teams to have their young guys make an impact.

Sometimes this stuff slips by me and I fail to understand it.

I just wanted to make sure I got it.

I think I do now. Thanks.

Your post specifically indicated 2005 there Brainiac!

Can't change your rules to suit your weak claims.

Not trying to change the rules ...literally referring to the 2005 season; conceptually, speaking about 200 - 2004 season.

Only an eagle fan would have his team swept by the entire division, get embarrassed on monday night, have a losing record, not have super bowl title, and still say that noone owned the eagles. What an idiot.

A TRUE Glutton for punishment you are PT! No point whatsover in starting this thread... what was to come from this? NOTHING... except you getting toasted....

Some people "toast" simply to toast. Some posters actually appreciate another point of view from an opponent fan. I'm not glutton for punishment ..I'll remember those that try to establish a dialogue and those who respond otherwise.
