No top 5 pick for us

I would also like to see us pick up a Wr considering our 2 best recievers are aging.

Christ. Why this year of all years not to suck as usual? I always felt that McFadden to Dallas would require both our picks, so that possibility is still intact. Then again, a young WR and left tackle would be nice consolation prizes.

Browns just aren't as bad as we though they were going to be. A top ten pick would be nice even.

They played against the WORST offense in the NFL (I'm guessing).

And their D (ravens) isn't what it use to be.

IT's a long season, they'll find a way to lose enough for us to get an elite player.

I agree with alot of posters here... if the Brownies dont pull a collapse which they still might...I see Jerry making a deal and getting the player he wants anyway.....so what Cleveland does doesnt really make that much of a difference

Yes they really are... playing way above their heads and are about to come crashing down

Wait I was called a moron this summer when I said that the Browns pick would most likely be a top 10 pick and not a top 5 pick :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

This doesn't mean we couldn't get McFadden.

Take a look at the "1st overall pick contenders:"
  • Dolphins 0-4 Already have Ronnie Brown and will be looking for a QB, probably Brohm from Louisville.
  • Chiefs 0-3 They have Larry Johnson and I doubt they would be looking for a top RB with their 1st pick
  • Raiders 2-2 I could see them taking McFadden, but as of right now, they own the tie breaker over the Browns.
  • Falcons 1-3 They could take McFadden but my bet would be that they would also be looking for a QB now that Vick is probably gone.
  • Saints 0-3 Already have Bush. They still might draft a RB, but I doubt it would be their 1st pick with the way their D is playing.
  • Rams 0-4 Already have Jackson
So even if the Browns don't get the top pick, we could still land McFadden around pick 7 or 8 so all hope is not lost.

With all that said, I am starting to like Rice more and more, but still if we have a chance at McFadden, I doubt Jerry lets him slide past us.

Pretty good breakdown, but I don't think he would fall past the Falcons AND the Raiders. Maybe one or the other, but not both.

Looking at the browns schedule, I see them going 6-10. A 6-10 record in this past year's draft would of put them at the 7th, 8th, or 9th pick in the draft. Still in range of possibly getting McFadden.

i still think we have a chance to get him. Anderson will start to struggle soon and so they will put Quinn in to get some experience and he will really struggle! besides Falcons and Bills both won i think so thats good as they got their 1st wins. A LOT of football still to be played!

geezus...talk about whatever it takes to "keep the dream alive" - if mcfadden is that "must have" then don't you think some other team could ALSO be consdiering a trade to get him where he belongs?

there's a lot of living to be done before that decision can be made but we'll make it every day several times between then and now.

How good is Kenny Phillips? I would be happy getting him or Antoine Cason (how good is he too?) if we can move Henry to FS.

I would love to use our 2 1sts to anchor our D. I'm still not sold on it. It can be better.

I'm beginning to wonder if JJ will have even one 100-yd game this year. Either we have the worst run blocking line in the league, or he's a mediocrity.

Considerign Barber has seemingly little problem running behind our line, I'm going to assume it's the latter

The ability to trade two first round picks is likely enough to move into the top 10 maybe even five, depends what Cleveland's pick is.

They should actually be 3-1 if it wasnt for Kiffin calling that TO before the FG, imo thats bush league. Browns are a lot better than we thought...

Bush league or not, it's legal.

It's only a matter of time before that tactic blows up in someone's face...with the kicker missing the first try, then coming back and making the second for the win.

The McFadden love is something else. Great player and I'd love to have him, but I'm surely not banking on him.
