Possibly true, sure, but if we don't beat them, our respect will plummet. They barely respect us now, the respect comes when we beat teams we NEED to beat to get to the Superbowl (Phi, SF etc). Beating down the cards does nothing in the long run, we better win though lol. Please give your thoughts...
Wouldn't be more impressive to blow out a SF though or a Phi or another team that's hot??? That's all i'm saying, I hear you thoughI kind of disagree. Look all over social media and sports talk. We were somewhere between 3rd best and "over rated" according to most non-Cowboy fans before the season. Now most have us even with or even ahead of Philly and SF (personally I still have us 3rd because the sample size is small). Another blowout and dominant defensive performance will only put us higher on most people's ranking even if it is against Arizona. When you destroy teams like we have (only two weeks of course) it is meaningful no matter how good or bad they are. Sure, if we win by a FG I agree with the premise, but a blowout is a blowout and 3 in a row would be very impressive.
Right no mercy, it's sad that we have to reference the past failures with games like this. Like I just said above this post, wouldn't it be nice to blow out a team that's hot, or a phi or SF etcPossibly true, sure, but if we don't beat them, our respect will plummet.
What beating them will show is that things have changed, that we no longer are susceptible to the dregs of the league. Josh Dobbs? Please, dude is shaking in his shoesies as we speak.
All i'm basically saying, but to get to that road we do have to beat the cards, but we REALLY have to beat the SF and Phi of the worldGo to the big dance win the trophy and that is the respect you need
Sorry to hear this, some of our fans are also TOO confident, it's ok to feel we're going to win, but we also have to be realistic and know that we're playing against another NFL team, not a JV teamOur fanbase has the biggest inferiority complex in sports.
THAT PART RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Help me understand: Why does what one single person’s opinion on social media or sports media about the Cowboys matter? Isn’t winning all that matters? Or do we think what some talking head thinks about the Cowboys actually matters?
True respect in the NFL does not happen until Jan and Feb in the playoffs. In fact, playoff wins (plural) = respect. “Looking good” while winning regular season games is great but that does NOT translate to any kind of meaningful respect.
I recognize a lot of fans these days care about “rankings” from sports media. And that’s fine if they do. But I’m just pointing out that “rankings respect” by sports talking heads is not real respect. Winning playoff games is where the real respect lies. Until we win at least two playoff games in a row, which we haven’t done in nearly 3 decades, there won’t be a ton of real respect.
I could care less what they think let that be known, it's about what the guys in that locker room and organization think that's all that matters. I'm just saying I know some players on this team actually want MORE than just to beat up on teams like this!!!!!!!My thoughts are you care way to much about what the media and fans think.
Who gives a trolls buttocks what they think.
I want a Superbowl and could care less how this team is viewed.
we shall see, anything can happen just knowI thought this was a trap game.
We are going to do what we should do. We are going to dominate the game with our defense and the game will be basically over by the second quarter.
I'm not worrying about respect. I thought the talk shows were crap, who cares what they say.
Not if you keep coming to check them out!!! lolslow down on the threads amigo
JeebusI'm just saying I know some players on this team actually want MORE than just to beat up on teams like this!!!!!!!
Sorry, but your comment doesn't really make any sense. The thread is about the Cowboys getting respect. Respect is perception and opinion and discussion and usually subjective to the individual. Here, now, in week 3 and I didn't make the thread. My comment isn't about one person on SM it's about everyone and all sports talk. It is clear the respect level now in week 3 is higher than before week 1, correct? If you don't agree with this I suspect you aren't paying attention to the scuttlebutt around the Cowboys before the season and now. Obviously winning when it matters would lead to even greater respect but that doesn't mean it hasn't already gone up even if incrementally.Help me understand: Why does what one single person’s opinion on social media or sports media about the Cowboys matter? Absolutely agree, of course it would. But that didn't seem to be the thread you started. Perhaps I misreadWouldn't be more impressive to blow out a SF though or a Phi or another team that's hot??? That's all i'm saying, I hear you though
Of course beating the Cards does something in the long run because for every team beating the teams they should beat along the way is part of gaining respect and building confidence and momentum. They barely respect us now, the respect comes when we beat teams we NEED to beat to get to the Superbowl (Phi, SF etc). Beating down the cards does nothing in the long run, we better win though lol. Please give your thoughts...
It maybe that we just disagree on the definition of respect. I don’t classify what a sports writer or talking head on ESPN says about the Cowboys in September as real respect. I believe that real respect in the NFL only happens with multiple playoff wins. And I don’t pay attention to what any media types say about any team.Sorry, but your comment doesn't really make any sense. The thread is about the Cowboys getting respect. Respect is perception and opinion and discussion and usually subjective to the individual. Here, now, in week 3 and I didn't make the thread. Who cares???? Just win. I could care less what the media thinks. Fans should just be focused on us winning and losing games. Not what the media has to say. They have an agenda to create drama regardless or winning or losing. Fans should not be doing the same thing like the OP is doing. They barely respect us now, the respect comes when we beat teams we NEED to beat to get to the Superbowl (Phi, SF etc).
