They barely respect us now, the respect comes when we beat teams we NEED to beat to get to the Superbowl (Phi, SF etc). Beating down the cards does nothing in the long run, we better win though lol. Please give your thoughts...
I wonder if the 85 Bears or the 70's Steelers or the 90's Cowboys were and still are questioned over all the bad teams they beat or average teams that beat them? Do people look at the undefeated Dolphins team and question the games played against patsies?
I think the Cowboys' own fans do this more than anyone. We won by 20 but the QB stinks. We won by 30 but we struggled to stop the run. The nonsense never stops with our own fans. In 2007, NE won 16 straight regular season games, averaging 36.8 points and 411 yards per game. Then they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Diego Chargers to reach the SB, 18-0. Then they lost the SB to the NY Giants; they even put up a "16-0" Banner, which their own fans hated! Are they respected by NFL history? https://***BLOCKED***/3637864/2022/09/28/2007-new-england-patriots-16-0/
As Bob said earlier, JUST WIN! Don't question every game; don't question every player's effectiveness every week. As fans, we should be cheering and enjoying every victory, big and small, dominant or weak. Every win is part of winning the division, making the playoffs, getting past the Divisional Round, playing in the NFC Championship game, getting to the SB and winning it!
We Cowboys fans have been blessed with memorable stars and championship seasons beyond all but 2-3 teams in NFL history, but we have also suffered through years and decades of either bottom feeding misery or top of the mountain disappointments. No one knows what the 2023 story will be, only what we hope it will be. We deserve to sit back, light a cigar or doobie, drink beer or whiskey, and savor every win, celebrating every win, even when it's a team we should destroy. Go Cowboys!
