Winning IS respect. Who cares what the media think about “style points”? If the Cowboys win by 1 or 50, they will be 3-0. That is literally all that matters. Just win.
Amen brother. I can't for the life of me understand why anybody still pays attention to what the mediots say about their team. I mean if you haven't figured out by now that 90% of what they say is schtick then I don't know what to tell ya. The other talking heads have seen the paydays that the likes of Skip Clueless and Screamin A Smith have been able to cash in for themselves but constantly talkin about the Cowboys good and bad so they are following suit. All that matters is getting a win. The team isn't going to blow every opponent out. Not even every sorry opponent because as we all know the worst team in the NFL is full of college All Americans. You go out there half steppin and you CAN git yer azz whupped. The Cowboys will lose games this year and will probably look bad doin it. As long as they put together that 3 or 4 game win streak in January and February it will be worth it!

They barely respect us now, the respect comes when we beat teams we NEED to beat to get to the Superbowl (Phi, SF etc). Beating down the cards does nothing in the long run, we better win though lol. Please give your thoughts...
Ya have to beat “these teams” to make “those” games meaningful.

It’s the ante required to play the game

No. You don’t get respect by barely beating a bad team.
It shows weakness. Good teams will attack your weaknesses!

When you're the Dallas Cowboys respect is earned in the postseason and I'm fine with that.

They've gone 12-5 the last two years. We have all seen this team look great in regular season games. But we also know what happened in the playoffs.

Beating up Arizona won't change perceptions, nor should it.

Who cares?

I mean, do we intentionally lose the game just to protest to the NFL Front office because the scheduling does not have us play "contenders" at the very beginning of the season?

EVERY team has games against teams that are not contenders.

Just like if the 49ers playing the Giants tonight. They win ... well, no duh, they should have. They lose ... what the hell happened?

I know the only true measure of success for the Cowboys comes in January. But I try to enjoy the ride since we can't just go straight to the playoffs.

The Cowboys aren’t going to get respect from many who cover the NFL until they make a deep run in the playoffs. Every time you think they have a great team, they end up disappointing their fans in the end. They’re going to get punched in the mouth a few times this season and we’re going to see how they respond. Contrary to what some of the fans on this board believe it’s not going to be this easy all season..

How much do you respect the Giants for beating the Cards?

However much that is...that's how much they will respect us for beating them.

There are some Cowboy fans that write off wins from the 9ers or eagles against bad teams (oh, they ONLY beat this team or that team)...then whine when people aren't doing backflips when WE play and beat a cupcake team like AZ.

So many whiners. People hated us because we won a lot 30 years ago....now they hate us because we whine a lot.

They'll respect doing what you're supposed to do vs an inferior opponent. When you're a great team, you're not just playing your opponent. You're playing for a higher standard and excellence. You can't play the patriots or 9'ers or win the division this week. All you can do is beat the cards. Who cares what the outside world thinks.

It's not about respect

It's about going 3-0
To win, one has to win his own respect...and take on all challenges, but congratulations go to the victors. In the regular season and in the playoffs.

The Cowboys are here and now ready for the Cardinals. Let's Go! :starspin:

You can only play whatever game is next on the schedule. The Cards may not look very impressive, but they're still an NFL team and therefore should be taken seriously. I won't worry that other NFL fans won't be impressed if we beat the Cards, as we should. It's not like the team can look at their schedule and say, "This Cardinals team isn't very good. We'll play the 49ers or the Chiefs instead." Right now just worry about beating the Cards. We'll cross other bridges when we come to them.
