No way can I agree with this line of thinking.
Yes, we lost...maybe we are chokers...maybe. But this team dominated a NY team that IS considered one of the favorites and an elite team in the NFC.
We dominated the line of scrimage...this was a game where we played hard and left it all on the field. We lost because Romo, Newman, and Ware all stank.
If even one of our stars had played an average, not great, but average game, we win easily, imo.
Where is the game if Tony plays average? We win.
Where is the game if Newman actually covers someone like usual? We win.
Where is the game if Ware has even 1-2 series where he takes over and applies pressure? Maybe we get them off the field and win.
Our stars played like backups last night...and we still came back again and again to take the lead last night. This is a good team.
We need it to be a Super Bowl team. It's not.
And what's so discouraging is not the turnovers. Those things happen. I can't fault Romo for the turnover Witten kicked back to a Giants defender. That was a freak play.
The problem is bad plays at bad times that seem to be consistent with this team.
Why oh why if the Giants aren't stopping the rush, we have them back on their heels, we need to take time off the clock, if we score we're up by 11 and take the Giants out of rush mode, do we call or audible into a deep pass which gets intercepted and leads to a touchdown putting the Giants up 27-24?
I'm no NFL coach or assistant coach. But it seems like everyone understands that if a team can't stop what you do, you keep doing it until they can.
Why can't this team?
Because we are a stupid team, that's why. We are an undisciplined team and a team that can't put it together for four quarters.
Sorry, but usually when you see patterns of consistency, then it reflects a particular culture.
We may win some games, but I'm convinced the culture that resides within the Cowboys organization will not produce a Super Bowl team. I hope I'm wrong, but the evidence suggests otherwise.
