And its because we are a team that kills themselves.

Its not like teams are just establishing dominance against us or anything. We just give them the game.

That is what is so frustrating. If we could just clean up the mental errors we would win many more games. We should have won this game about 38-10. :banghead:

I had been saying it since last year . . . wore one of those suits . . . and still had to get out of the heat. It was Chernobyl sized heat from the rah-rah club.

This team is average at best. And will be until the big 4 issues are addressed: talent at critical positions, better coaching, fire and discipline in the team (and it needs to be from the coaching staff as well as the players), improved front office (Jerry is not a GM).

As long as we have any or all if these issues we WILL be average.

I've been saying it since last year too. Rather vocally I might add... At every corner I was met with opposition. I was told I was debbie downer, a realist, not a real fan, fair weather, not on the bandwagon, had ulterior motives. etc etc. You name it and it was said to me at some point in time. Well the bottom line is just as I have been sounding for months. We're a 9-7 team at best. As I have asked many times, What has happened in the off-season to make anyone thing any differently? Absolutely nothing... This team doesn't know how to put teams away when it has them on the ropes. It reminds me of the classic boxer that will pitter patter to regain his breath and gain some points, all the while letting the other boxer recover from the upper cut and eventually getting knocked out himself No killer instinct. None... I blame the head coach... period. I never wanted Wade but had to settle for him because I am just a fan. Singletary was at the top of my radar at the time. Had Shanahan not been employed while we were looking he would have easily trumped Singletary. Wade? BAH... I get pissed off every time I see his clueless look on the sidelines. I can only imagine how much he comes up short in the locker room. There's an idea. Mic Wade up.... I bet that'll be a doozy...

Perspective is not our strong suit, hyperbole is what we like. The bottomline, we shot ourselves in the foot and Romo had the gun and the gun was loaded with badluck bullets.

How we respond after this loss will be more telling then the actual loss. We wanted and beg for a team without TO now we have it and now it is time for the team to rise to the occasion.

You completly miss the point, The Cowboys are stuck in....How they respond mode.... Penalties, INTs, Fumbles, No Pass rush, Can't tackle as they take on the head coaches personality.. of its my fault, we have to respond better...awe shucks

The Cowboys have taken on the Personality of their coaches and GM's the nice guy...attitude...Not a Parcells, Rex Ryan, Bill Cohwer mentality of get in the face and play smashmouth football, The goodie-to-shoe cowboys mentality does not equate championship caliber, smashmouth football of Champions.

Charles Haley, was not the nicest guy, Irvin, Bill Bate, Henderson, White all played with a different menatlity than this team.

Basically said that the hardest thing for fans to admit/realize is that their team just isn't that good.

I think that's where we are as a franchise. All that talk of us being so "talented" is a such of BS. I feel like this team just doesn't have that killer instinct you need to win big games like tonight. We don't have enough impact players on defense, our QB turns the ball over at the worst times, and bad coaching usually catches up to us.

Norm also said that fans want to make excuses and nit pick on the little things, but don't want to admit that their team just isn't good.

The Dallas Cowboys are not a good football team. You can blame the penalties, turnovers, the QB, offensive coordinator, head coach/defensive coordinator, owner/GM, secondary, pass rush, WR's; but the bottom line is we're a mediocre team that will probably finish 8-8.
I'd take 8 wins. This looks like a 6-10 team to me. A heartless and gutless defense that mirrors its coordinator and a qb that is a stat machine but a loser.

Not a good combination.

Parcells never had a team with this much talent and he only had Tony Romo for half a season.

ding ding

This team needs a coach, not an owner and two coordinators.

Its not that they aren't good. They are really good.

But why do they insist on giving games away.

Why does Jaq Reeves let the Giants walk down the field in the playoffs?

Why does Terry Glenn get a safety to turn the game around in the seattle playoff loss?

Why do we give up 2 70+ yard runs out of no where to the Ravens?

Why?

Please someone tell me?

Its just a re-occuring thing that wont go away. As soon as it does we can shut all the haters up but until we do than its just more of the same disapointment.

Unbelievable Dallas.

Black magic?

Yet the problems that plagued his teams are the same problems we are still having now.

True, but I really believe guys were held accountable for repeatedly making boneheaded plays under Bill Parcells.

Ask Drew Bledsoe.

According to Terence Newman, via ESPN First Take, people were not being held accountable last year.

They are what they are. 11-10 in their last 21 games. The schedule in December is brutal. This team typically crumbles after adversity. Maybe this year will be different. However, it is unlikely. Sigh.

Norm also said that if Crayton makes that one catch in the playoff game, or if Fasano doesn't let that TD pass clank off his hands, we'd be talking about Eli never having won a playoff game and Romo has.

That's real interesting Mr. Cowboy: I thought that last night too: what if Crayton or Fasano make EASY PLAYS IN THOSE GAMES? Not an excuse for Romo, but...............I wonder how it could have altered things.....we'll never know.

You know why we didn't make those plays? Because we find ways to lose.

It is incredible.

Thats bull. We are a good team! Not a great team but we are good! We stayed in the the game with the giants and give up 4 turnovers that led to 24 points. A bad team would have been blown out! Once we tweak the d and romo stops throwing pics were a tuff team to beat! I think one that would help tony to stop thrown pics it to take the ball out his hands. I still think were still to pass happy! I'd like a little more running and play-action!

We're a team that COULD be good, but isn't because as CAtch17 and many others have saId: we just can't make the plays when it counts...........

I'm much more concerned with the defense on this team. Bottom line, Romo sucked last night. He knows it and everyone else knows it. But the fact that we have no sacks, an extremely weak pass rush and no turnovers in the first two games is scary. Too many soft and dumb players at key positions. Newman, Hamlin, Carpenter, Bradie, Brooking, Scandrick, Ware, Spencer all had HORRIFIC games last night.

No way can I agree with this line of thinking.

Yes, we lost...maybe we are chokers...maybe. But this team dominated a NY team that IS considered one of the favorites and an elite team in the NFC.

We dominated the line of scrimage...this was a game where we played hard and left it all on the field. We lost because Romo, Newman, and Ware all stank.

If even one of our stars had played an average, not great, but average game, we win easily, imo.

Where is the game if Tony plays average? We win.
Where is the game if Newman actually covers someone like usual? We win.
Where is the game if Ware has even 1-2 series where he takes over and applies pressure? Maybe we get them off the field and win.

Our stars played like backups last night...and we still came back again and again to take the lead last night. This is a good team.

Are you kidding? I thought Carpenter, Bradie, Brooking, and Spencer all had very good games. Scandrick had a good coverage game, but gave up two first downs on missed tackles.

Newman and Ware, along with Romo, were the only guys I thought played awful. Remember...the guys up front did what they had to do, they stopped the running game. I think it's our three stars that let us down for a change.

But all the guys I mentioned failed to make any big plays in the game. We'll never take the next step with this defense if we don't commit key turnovers. Scandrick had a terrible coverage game. He got juked by Steve Smith numerous times, including one for a 22 yard TD pass. Scandrick is young I know but he had a terrible game. Carpenter had a huge illegal contact penalty which kept the Giants' drive alive when we had them pinned deep. Bradie continues to take bad angles, Ware and Spencer fail to get any pressure. This team is in trouble.

Exactly. I am still waiting for the defense to make a play this year. THey strut and preen after making a tackle, but how about a sack, or a pick or a forced fumble? They are all bark and very little chihauha like bite. If they were half as good as they think they are, then this would be a contender. Instead they can't hold a lead to save their lives. Eli made them look silly last night. Oh well.
