Normally failure creates change

We do the same thing over and over because the results are exactly what we are looking for. You as the fan may not be getting what you want but the players and management most certainly are.
Thanks for the comforting news. If you weren't here to remind us that all the players and management are happy and the fans are getting screwed...we might have missed it.

It’s Orwellian doublespeak. What they said is above and what they know for a fact is below:

•”Unique disadvantage” (Jones family ownership & management)
• “Anybody could do better!” (but since we’re dealing with a senile drunken narcissist & nepo-baby kids, expect no change)
Straight from The Ministry of Truth.

Nothing changes until JJ and SJ step aside and let real football people take control. It’s that simple. Until then , it’s Groundhog Day. We’ve been down this road since Jimmy left. Had a glimmer of hope with Parcells.

It's been 30 - about to be 31 years. The owner is not changing and his son is taking over when he dies. Expecting different results, is INSANITY at this point.

The owner runs tourist exhibition tours of the facility and training areas while the players are preparing, during the week. He will create noise and spectacle if there is none to hype or get ppl talking about the team. Former players have said when they leave to go to other teams its "refreshing" bc the focus is: FOOTBALLL.

And you're complaining? I get it. It's not what you like or want to see. But the Dallas Cowboys are a football business, BEFORE they are a football team. And it will never, ever, ever change.

You just gotta accept it

For the 15th time in the last 26 seasons, our Dallas Cowboys will not be participants in the NFL playoffs. That means since 2000, we have made the playoffs 42% of the time. When we’ve made the playoffs, we’ve won a single wild card game 40% of the time. We can’t get better without first admitting we are not a very good football team. And it was obvious all year.

We are just a few weeks from the start of a very important off-season. An off-season where if this front office does not change its ways in acquiring more quality NFL talent, only a miracle from Lady Luck will prevent us from missing the playoffs again.

In short, if JJ and his sidekick son don’t change their ways, expect the same kind of season next year..

Before the off-season starts, we will be saturated with the usual sales job from our owner/GM, gaslighting us with the ridiculous statement that he is “surprised” we didn’t make the playoffs. Most Cowboys fans are not surprised.

And he will be thrilled when too many Cowboys fans will blame the HC, DC, the QB and whoever else can be thrown under the party bus.

My 9 year old granddaughter apparently has a better understanding of what this team is when she sweetly and accurately said to me while watching a recent game with me, “Papa the Cowboys just aren’t very good are they?” Out of the mouth of a 9 year old comes more truth than we will ever get from our 83 year old GM.

So unless Jerry and Giggles admit that their cheap ways of roster building without serious participation in FA doesn’t work, we will be here again next year. Or realizing that hiring coaches because they’re friends and they make you feel comfortable is not the way to win.

In normal organizations, failure creates change. Because without major changes in how this team is run, we should not expect changes in results.
And they cannot count on those 2 first round draft picks with no picks in rounds 2 and 3 to fix the defense. Even if we draft well, it's unlikely that 2 rookies are going to lead that unit to respectability in year one. The Joneses must be active in free agency, especially at the weakest spots. Unless we draft 1 of the top 3 inside LBs in round 1, we will need to look to free agency. Personally, I cannot imagine not trading down a little with our best pick to get some help in day 2 of the draft.

We should be able to find help at S and CB after day 1, but I'm guessing we will be looking at Edge and LB early on.

The Joneses must be active in free agency prior to the draft. No matter who we draft, we will need another veteran presence similar to Clowney/Houston at edge, along with looking at a veteran inside LB. We need starters, but we also need better depth at edge and LB. Maybe there will be a decent S available in free agency. Just find good players at any of our positions of need; that will then focus our draft direction. As many have said, we don't need a top 10 defense, and that will take more than 1 off season, but if we can even climb to #20 or higher next season and keep the offense strong by also looking at RT and RB depth, maybe we can be a serious team in September.

Dallas needs DOGS, period. Rehashes of middling players that have never won anything and been mercenaries like Clowney. Is NOT IT.

Yep, that's the definition of insanity:
Doing it the same way and expecting different results.
That's what is so frustrating as a fan of this team.
The Owner/GM cant see this basic truth.

It's a frustrating cycle. It shouldn't be acceptable to miss the playoffs as much as we have. That would get most gms sacked.
Not just missing the playoffs Rusty.
It's the consistent pooping the bed once we get there.
We have been the number One seed twice and could not get out of the divisional round.
We were the number Two seed 2 years ago at home and got plastered by the Packers.
It's the consistent failure that this front office is never held accountable for.

When you pay a single player $60 million out of a $279 million salary cap, you don't have much money to bring in additional supporting players.

We'd have been in the same boat had we dumped Dak and his contract last year. At least we'd have hope moving forward. But with Dak eating up that massive cap space, we're set to repeat what we did the past two years ... which is nothing.
Paying Dak didn't mean we had to draft guys like:

Kelvin Joseph, Mazi, Carson, Liufau, Schoonmaker, Fehoko, Cox, Ball, Sam williams, Blue....

They let solid players like Jordan Lewis leave and brought in bad players like Murray.

And that's why we're about to be the laughing stock in Texas since the Texans look dangerous (I live in Ohio, but I'll be visiting family in Houston over Christmas). Then again, Jerry's used to be a laughing stock.

Exactly, and it's painfully annoying.

I say this over and over and over you guys need to wrap your heads around what failure actually looks like. You might think this season has been a failure. We have a QB who leads the league in yards. We had the most prime time games and probably highest viewership. We had a WR that was talked about all season. Massive trades involving "big time" stars that was the talk all season. Jersey sales through the roof. Ticket prices through the roof. More fun than you could ever possibly hope for. If you think in any way shape or form that this season was not a massive success for this franchise then you need to wake up and start paying attention.
Hey Stephen Jones !
