The Patriots are 2-2 also and they just got blown out by a team we beat. Think their board is firing all the coaches and whining about everything in sight? We have a GREAT opportunity Sunday. Whether we will or won't win isn't the point on Tuesday. It's a chance to show we can play with the best. I believe we have the talent and the will to win. :iggles: I say bring on the Eagles. Who's with me?

Bill Belichick has won 3 of the last 4 super bowls and won last yrs championship with a patchwork secondary, of course they dont want to fire him

The Patriots are decimated by injury right now, our team isnt missing a single key player

we should have lost to the friggin Niners for crying out loud

Or you could look at the facts that Philadelphia has the worst run defense that we've faced so far this season, has the best pass rush we've faced and is the best at forcing turnovers. Then you'd deduce that we need to run the ball more, protect Bledsoe and keep from making turnovers, then keep the game close and try to pull it out at the end. Some people would look at it that way.

The only time Philly is strong against the run is if they're able to do a lot of run blitzing. If we can burn them when they run blitz a couple of times, we'll force them to stop and it'll help our running game tremendously.

I don't agree with nors very often, but I do on every point he just made. These were things I tryed to stress earlier in the week, and gave up, because talking to them is Julius running, its a brick wall.

We must beat the Eagles!!!

I am - Also very down on all the fence squatters, doubters, glooms, whiners, chicken littles and negative fans.

Sad - and amusing! I didn't post for 2 days to witness the cluster..........

didnt Philly hold Lamont Jordan to 19 yds on 16 carries?

that of course was one week before the genius that is Mike Zimmer coached a defense that "held" the same back who was averaging like 2.8 yds a carry for the season to 130 yds or so

you just dont like it because the coach you think is God is stinking up the joint right now

its yr three...we're still waiting on seeing a team that plays fundamentally sound football, quality defense and competes on a regular basis against the good teams

maybe it'll happen, but with what I've seen the past 20 games or so I have serious doubts

Part of the reason the Eagles are ranked lower against the run is that they played the falcons in week 1 w/o Trotter. He's their run stuffer. Add in the fact that Vick had 68 yards it kind of skews those numbers.

That said, we still need to run the football. You can get by a game or two by giving up on the run, but LONG TERM you have to run the ball.

I'd rather be a team that physically dominates the opponent up front then one that airs it out all over the place.

Isn't TO the type of player WHY Parcells brought in a certain CB?

Agree though....we need to "play to win" this weekend. Let's not let THEM dictate to US how the game will go.

Rack - we are run run running it with no sucess.

Our best bet is to air it out and spread the D. That will open up JJ and the run. I agree on the mix being 50-50 but we are stuck in a run, run, pass predictable mode - JMO

and our YPC I believe is south of 3.5......

Since Philly has the worst run D...I guess that means we will pass alot...

I mean, that's what we did with the Raiders right? They had the worst pass D and we were determined to run the ball.

They also allowed 5.6 YPC to Warrick Dunn, 4.7 YPC to Priest Holmes and 4.9 YPC to Larry Johnson. They can be susceptible to the run, if you take them out of their blitzing game.

Time to Attack - Roy and co don't relish a passive gameplan. ATTACK - That gets your team into it.

Patton refused to allow his troops to dig foxholes at night. Felt it sent a message to his troops their lives were at risk when stats had shown there was no merit. He also felt it expended un needed energy and hurt morale.....

Patton's troops advanced faster than any Army in modern history to date.....

We ran the ball to try to shorten the game, keep their offense off the field and keep the game close. That's pretty much Parcells' M.O., if he thinks he has any running game at all.

Tampa and Chiefs have 2 of the best running games in the NFL......

Eagles keep winning and winning against that ilk..... We need to attack and not try to run, run, run on Eagles......

Soooo....at what point does he say that the running game isn't working? Or is he saying to himself "It's gotta work sometime, dangit."

Not ONE slant was called the entire game....those could have opened up the WR's as well.

Tampa?

Warrick Dunn plays for Atlanta, the team that rushed 40 times for 200 yards, controlled the clock and beat the Eagles in the opener despite three turnovers in the passing game.

Nors....shouldn't a game-plan include attacking their weakness? In fact, shouldn't a bulk of a game-plan be centered around that?

If we continually game-plan TOWARDS our opponents strengths.....this season is OVER right now. Forget how early it is.

Honestly, the Falcons HAD to run the ball....all that they have behind center is a glorified RB playing QB.

Your over the top negativity is premature IMO. If things go as you predict Sunday and we get blown out maybe I'll agree. But if we win or play with the Eagles to the end please turn the dial on the whineometer.

I see NOTHING to represent our running game can do that - nothing

Atlanta did beat them 14-10. Their defense had something to do with that as well.... Eagles are spotless after that....

I doubt we can win a muckity game - rather punch them offensively and defensively.
