No Linebacker can cover Brain Westbrook one on one. Some safeties might but Roy is definitely not one of them. So you are forced to doulbe team Brain Westbrook. You might be able to successfully stop him from running on you but no way a single Linebacker or safety can cover that guy. So double Brain Westbrook and roll safety on TO and who are you going to blitz with. Who is going to cover LJ and Greg Lewis.
I am sure Bill parcells has a good game plan for all thse guyz and on any give sunday any team can win. But honestly how many of you think Dallas has a good chance of winning this game?

Appreciate what you're saying, but taking everything you said into consideration, I believe the Eagles will play Dallas just as hard as if they were able to defend against those play-makers you identified.

No way will the Eagles underestimate Dallas -- we made that mistake with the Falcons. Eagles will bring their A+ game and will play for 60 minutes. The Commanders scenario will not be a factor In this game. There will be a clear winner ...either the Cowboys, or the Eagles!

It's all predicated on how our offensive line performs. That unit sets the table for everything we would like to do. It allows us to run the ball, dictate tempo, and sets us up to do more offensively.

If Dallas can not effectively run the football or protect Bledsoe when he does drop, then we won't be doing much attacking. Jimmie Johnson is going to do a lot of run blitzing. Their defense will do everything in their power to make us one dimensional. So that in the event we decide to abandon the running game, their guys can pin their ears back and make life hell for our offense.

Our offensive line allows us to be more diverse. If we can do that, we can keep their defensive unit off balance. I agree we would be best served to test them upfield. And we can do that. The big men up front must have the protections ingrained and ready to adjust on the fly.

We can check out of situations and hit them where it hurts if we catch them. And that is true in the running game as well. But if we don't block and protect. This will be another messy defeat at the hands of Philly.

I agree - the OL is the key, but I don't see our offense being very productive if they employ a run-first strategy.

The Cowboys must run the ball to control the game, but IMO they need to pass the ball in order to run it. Take some of the chains off and test some deeper patterns, loosen things up and then see what Jones can do.

If the Cowboys do stubbornly stick to a run-first strategy, I can only hope they employ a variety of blocking schemes and finally dress A-train.

Another run, run, run will garner a 3 ypc average and lose the game. I'm not saying chuck it 50 times but vertically allow Bledsoe to attack the defense and get points up.

I'd make Brian Westbrook Roy's #1 job...run or pass, Roy should be with him all game long. If Roy can't even cover the RB, though Westbrook is a good one, then our defense will never be any good because you can't totally hide a guy in coverage.

Thats not really fair. Westbrook is the best receiving runningback in the league (or at least the most well used) and is often matched up against cornerbacks in man coverage when he is split out as a receiver (most of the time when the Eagles use extra receivers it is usually the back or tight end). Two weeks ago against Oakland he beat Charles Woodson in man coverage for a 37 yard completion. Even if Williams is just an average coverage safety, leaving him on an island with a back good enough to play receiver isn't putting him in the right situation.

Philly is all that matters now! We need to win this game and get to 3-2 and stay in the division hunt. Our only chance is to take it to Philly on both sides of the ball.

Cover 2 and deep safety strategy sux. Lamont Jordan scoffed post game at our 2 deep strategy. He said they all knew at that point they were going to run it down our throats. And when they had to they did. Roy needs in the box and we need to get after McChunky – he’ll carve us up if we go with another conservative Cover 2 with safeties deep in passive Zone…..

Moss and Commanders have exposed our obvious weakness. We can’t handle deep plays where WR hit long seams or run crossing patterns. Our CB's s are releasing WR’s to safeties that can’t handle it. This needs fix or TO is going to go off. We need to man up Tnew and Henry on WR’s and put FS over the top of TO and take him out wherever he goes. Frustrate him and make someone else beat us. I’d also take a LB and mirror Westbrook wherever he goes. Then attack out of 3-4. We have to pressure McSoup and not sit back.

Left side of Line is a weakness – not this mystical strength…. Allen is whiffing and has limited mobility these days. Stop stacking TE’s and running Left. Its getting jammed play after play after play after play after play…..

Bledsoe – I’m not going to jump totally on the Bledsoe must throw more but yes we need to open it up more. Once we get in a bind he starts grinding out ridiculous deep passing yards. That’s his strength – accuracy on deep routes. We need to reduce the 3 drop plays some. They force a short route and pass – and if coverage is there puts Bledsoe at risk. I say drop him some 5 and 7 drop plays that vertically attack a defense. That will open it up for JJ and Witten underneath.

More Price please! More shotgun, less 2 TE and doomed and predictable runs. More 3 and 4 Wide sets that include Witten as 1 of the 3 or 4!

Somewhere right about now Eagles are planning to clock and attack us. If we roll out another rope a dope gameplan we are going to get knocked out. Somewhere I see Parcells fully understanding his screw up on this teams overall game mgmt.

Cornered Bill – he gets how big this game is. Can put us in the game or back in the pack fighting to be in playoff contention….

I think Parcels comes out swinging in this game. I can accept that moreso than another passive and defensive gameplan.

This game could be the defining moment for this team. I think Canty, Spears, Ware and Burnett HAVE TO TAKE LEADERSHIP OF THIS DEFENSE! I just don’t see any on the rest of the veterans – those veterans that have never stepped up in career here. Time to change the guard.

Predictions on Gameballs!

Julius Jones/Bledsoe
Spears/Roy

All I know is that if we come out and try this 'ball control' garbage we will get killed. Philly is going to put up at least 24 + points in this one, we need to match them and I would like to see us come out early and throw it downfield to not only open running lanes...but to show Jim Johnson that he's not going to blitz Bledsoe all day long or he will pay.

THe only way we beat Philly is to make them pay for blitzing. We know they are going to blitz and blitz a lot. That's what they always do. THe idea of having Bledsoe drop back to throw a deep pass isn't going to work. Our line isn't going to hold. The only way this happens we use max protect, 2TE. I think the best move is to run the ball right at them. Keep the ball out of McPukes hands as much as possible. This
