lol, blackspidertroll is at it again. Oh no, we're going back to the days of 8-8 again because we let our MVP candidate QB throw more passes to our HoF TE and All-Pro WR. It had nothing to do with our defense giving up 6600 yards in one season, obviously.

You do realize our run game worked last year because teams game planned the pass right? Towards the end of the year, teams loaded up to stop murrray and romo torched them

Reading into what?? It's pretty clear right now they do not trust their run game.

I mean, we are this far into training camp and can you name me who the starter is?

It's not remotely clear.
You guys are freaking this entire offseason

You'd think people would understand this.

Nobody is talking about throwing it 10-15 more times every game. Comical

I really hope we don't revert to the teams of the years previous to 2014. But with a quote like this and Stephen talking about a trade or looking at the waiver wire, they are not pleased so far with the run game and their pieces. Romo is not effective when he is asked to throw it around the field 40-45 times. We've seen how that unfolds.

Jerry is just prepping fans for how the offense will change if running game is awol this season.

I know this is going to be a very unpopular post but this team is going to regret letting Murray go. I bet Jerry is already wishing he would have worked something out. Murray was a team player who could run, block, and catch. A very smart player that was a typical Dallas Cowboy. He fit in perfectly here and was a class act. These knuckleheads we currently have can't fill his shoes and the backs in the league who can are not available and there isn't many of them anyway. I've been watching this team for almost 40 years and letting him sign elsewhere was a mistake. We are going to find out how important he was. Demarco Murray WAS the reason this team did so well last season. A great offense needs balance and he provided that. I know he would have had a huge year here this year if he would have stayed regardless of how he does in Philly. Murray was just what this offense needed, someone to get the tough yards and get a fresh set of downs under pressure. I know he fumbled at inopportune times but his play offset that. I hope one of our backs, or one we pick up make me forget about Murray but I don't see it happening. If we start throwing the ball more this offense will lose some of that balance and make the opposing Defenses job a little easier. I don't have to say what this means for our team, you already know...........

So...Demarco Murray WAS the reason we did so well last year.

Not the best line (3 pro bowlers) we've had in many years plus a QB who led the league in many categories plus a great WR and TE plus and improved defense.
No...THE reason we were better was one man...Demarco Murray.
Duly noted.

So even if we stay as healthy as last year, it's back to 8-8?
Can I get an amen?

This is the best OL Romo has ever had. I wouldn't mind seeing what he could do throwing 40 times a game.

( I know we need the running game to click, but if the defense can hold their own then just let the offense take advantage of what they give you)

We ran too much last year, and I have been saying since we went defense heavy all offseason that we planned on moving off that 51/49 run to a much better to go all the way 55/45 pass.

I doubt they'll do that. But 4-5 more per game could keep a real good balance. And if they load up at all, then they can tourch 'em.

I've said since murry left we'll pass more. Not much but around 34/26 pass to run.

Just my opinion...I'm just saying without a great back don't expect a similar record.

I don't see how we know anything for sure about the run game. Lots of potential and lots of questions is what I see.

Fair enough.

Personally, with or without Murray, I was not expecting 12-4.
But may still advance further in the playoffs...hope so anyway.

Repeating a 12-4 record was going to be difficult even with Murray. But I'm sure if we slide to 11-5 this year there will be tons of threads telling us "I TOLD YOU SO" at seasons end.
