Joseph Randle

If they can't see that, then they should study the picture below:

I care about what Linehan has to say, and he's been pretty clear on the formula he wants. It's going to be the same as last year.

The only way we more is if the running game is completely ineffective. Which is what I'm guessing Jerry was saying anyways.

So...Demarco Murray WAS the reason we did so well last year.

Not the best line (3 pro bowlers) we've had in many years plus a QB who led the league in many categories plus a great WR and TE plus and improved defense.
No...THE reason we were better was one man...Demarco Murray.
Duly noted.

So even if we stay as healthy as last year, it's back to 8-8?
Can I get an amen?

DM was the face of the running game. He carried the rock, game in and game out, in what became a 12-4 season. Breaking records on his way to the Leagues Leading Rusher................But hey, were just going to replace all that with Joe Randle. Who was also on the roster last year, and was so great, we rarely gave him the ball....

Slowly. Inch by inch, word by word, play call by play call......Romo in the pocket more and more, standing there waiting for someone to get open........

Well Randle will most likely have a better OL to run behind (should be improved over last years group). He has speed, which Murray lacked. No he isn't Murray. But no one knows what his ceiling is behind this line. Until we do, I am going to stay positive.

This was already a pretty sophisticated offense, being run by what is now a pretty smart quarterback.

Oh, there is talent at the running back position, and it should be able to strongly carry the load.

And thats probably the best approach. How Randle does is one of many things, I am excited to see this upcoming season....,,, Can he rip off those long runs, week in and week out? And put up some numbers and production? If he can, and stay healthy doing it, then we will be better then just fine.....

I still bring in one or two more guys at RB, after cuts, to push both him and DMC and hopefully bump one or two of the three RBs we got, off the roster......

I know, they believe Randle is the guy. Its just confusing why they believe that. If they believed in him so much, why didn't he run the ball more last year? Especially when Murray was banged up, or to just give Murray a breather? And I am not buying the Murray wouldn't allow it, argument.....or any other reason. If he is soooo good, why didn't he play more last year?

I'm guessing the staff wanted Murray in there and Murray wanted to be in the game. It is what it is.

It was. And although I agree, you cant assume we went 12-4 last year and 8-8 the previous 3 seasons because of how many rushing attempts we made during the 2014 season.....................Although I agree with that; .Im just going to go ahead and say it; ....................We went 12-4 last year because of how many rushing attempts we made during the 2014 season!! :)

Run the ball. Why would you want to get cute with all that? Yeah, sure Romo could make up for any lack of running game.....But we don't want to see that happen. Yeah, sure we have a better defense now, but lets not put them out there more then they need to be....

The formula worked last year. We have an offensive line that's built for it. Let that OL attack instead of defend. Take over games with that OL and the running game. not with Romo and Dez. Romo and Dez will need to show up. But lets ride the OL.....................

.Run the Ball. Randle/DMC better be ready to see some action week in week out.

Valid view, but a backtrap of seeing success and then giving credit for what worked. Other things work also.

This is the best OL Romo has ever had. I wouldn't mind seeing what he could do throwing 40 times a game.

( I know we need the running game to click, but if the defense can hold their own then just let the offense take advantage of what they give you)

What could possibly go wrong having are 36 year old franchise QB running around in the pocket more often......?

Wow, I'm seeing a wide variety of options on this thread with the RB position. Frankly I think the FO, is set on giving Randle, McFadden and Dunbar every opportunity to prove they are the guys for the job. It will be a 3 RB committee with each one having a certain role. I don't see the FO deviating from this plan until after the last preseason game and then only if injury to one of our main 3 RBs is a factor. I believe in the smart guys like Will McClay in the FO to make the right decisions, when and if they need to be made. I see too many posters on this thread that are panicked and saying all kinds of rash things. Makes me glad they are just fans with no real influence on the FO.

here is another quote by JJ lol
Jerry Jones: "If Darren McFadden can stay healthy, ‘he’ll tear their you know what up’"
So dmc is going to tear up opponents, until he cant lol so no worries with run game
That 40 year old brain is working overtime and it shows.

BREAKING NEWS: reports from many fans of Cowboyszone have identified strange objects in their front yard. Investigators were initially stumped until they realized that the objects appeared from above. Yes, apparently in some locations, the sky has fallen.

I was afraid of this. The running game was responsible for the Cowboys 12-4 record last year. It helped Romo become a better QB. It freed Dez up. It helped the defense. If this team doesn't run, it will revert back to the 8-8 years. I don't understand why you would change what is working. You can't throw to set up the run if nobody respects the run.

Murray would not, nor ever will again, replace what he did last year....so no, neither will Randle alone won't replace Murray's rushing totals.

A few hundred less rushing yards and a few more passing yards will not be a dramatic change.
They can still have one the leagues most balanced offenses while doing that.
