What does Elite mean? My assumption is it means Top 5 in the league.

If so, Tyron is definitely elite, and so is Bailey. Dez is borderline.

10 out of 11 guys they list on defense are average or less. Ouch. The only above average player, Melton, is returning from a torn ACL.

For the record, I agree that we DO have several elites. Those already mentioned, and also LP.

Looking through the various teams that they have posted these charts on so far, I see that they are VERY VERY stingy in granting "elite" status to anyone. I so do not agree with that philosophy.

The state of that defensive list is far too depressing for me to get worked up about whether or not someone is Elite or just High Quality.

Witten, Bryant, Ladouceur, Bailey, and Smith are all elite at their positions. You could make an argument for Romo and Murray as well.

I know he's considered a WR here, but Harris is the best ST player in the NFL.

I think we have three elite players on offense: Romo (if healthy), Smith and Dez.

I disagree with some of those average starters on defense though. It is really stretching it to consider some of the guys average.

Has PFF done a depth chart focus on Seattle? I tried backtracking from the link one way and got a list of search results. Next, I tried to alter the link somewhat and was redirected to a subscribe page. Just wanted to compare how PFF grades us in comparison with last season's Super Bowl champions.

Just like any fan base, we probably overrate our own guys a lot. I don't know that we have anyone that's "elite", but we have a few guys who are right on the borderline of it.

Tyron is elite for sure. He's easily a top 5 LT.

Bailey is probably elite too, but I'm not going to pretend to know much about kickers.

I think the chart is close to spot on, Tyron and Bailey are borderline elite, Witten may be down a notch.

I'm guessing top 3, since Tyron graded as their 5th best LT last year.

@Phoenix, the lack of elites is less disturbing when you consider that their criteria is ridiculously exclusive.

Jason Witten graded as their 3rd best TE last year and even he's not considered "Elite".

Must have to be the absolute best to be considered Elite.

Sure, I think a case can be made for both guys. But I wouldn't argue with anyone who says that they aren't quite there yet.

Ladouceur is a model of consistency. Wonder what criteria he is deficient at for PFF to slot him at Good Starter instead of High Quality?
