Ladouceur is a model of consistency. Wonder what criteria he is deficient at for PFF to slot him at the Good Starter instead of High Quality?
Not a single errant snap. But obviously there was some "metric" they found or basically invented that pushed him down to just "good".

5. 2013 was the first season we began to grade long-snappers and other special teams positions in unrivaled fine detail. We don’t just factor totally botched snaps into a long snapper’s grade, but snaps that are significantly off-line in any direction, whether that inaccuracy was compensated for by the punter or holder or not. A long-snapper’s grade will also be made up from his work on coverage units and can be harmed by missed tackles, poor lane-discipline among other factors.

I would also move Romo from good to high quality.

Just going through other depth charts on that site, it looks like you have to be pretty special to be "high quality" at QB. Just noticed that Tom Brady is listed as high quality, so Romo is probably in the right spot if they are being that strict.

PFF. Biggest ripoff around for those dumb enough to pay for it.

Clearly Bailey and LP are elite; to say otherwise just screams normal anti cowboy bias. Tyron is right on the edge so you could maybe still leave him out but that certainly would be arguable. PFF had Witten as top 3 last year yet he is not elite?

The challenge is that there are several top-flight QB's in the NFL right now... Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Brady... And is Romo equal or better than any of them?

No.

Witten got a lower grade because he ran onto the field too slow at change of possession. Or something.

So far, they only have one "elite" TE on their depth charts, and it's Rob Gronkowski.

Though this is the dreaded media head , what I take away from the chart is the rookies at back up positions.
I dont think this is our starting roster but I see some strength next year or maybe in the second half of the season.

Baily is close to being elite, but you look at the kicking numbers (including kickoffs) and there are some damn fine kickers in the NFL right now.

No doubt, and even Brady is only listed as high quality.

PFF is being pretty stingy in their grading of Elite, which they should be in my opinion. Here is a list of who they've graded as Elite thus far by team (They are up to the Patriots depth chart)

Arizona: Calais Campbell
Atlanta: None
Baltimore: None
Buffalo: Kyle Williams
Carolina: None
Chicago: Brandon Marshall
Cincinnati: Andrew Whitworth, Geno Atkins
Cleveland: Joe Thomas
Dallas: None
Denver: Peyton Manning, Von Miller
Detroit: Calvin Johnson, Ndamukong Suh
Green Bay: Aaron Rodgers, Josh Sitton, Clay Matthews
Houston: Andre Johnson, JJ Watt
Indianapolis: Robert Mathis
Jacksonville: None
Kansas City: Jamaal Charles, Dontari Poe, Justin Houston, Eric Berry
Miami: None
Minnesota: Adrian Peterson
New England: Rob Gronkowski, Darrelle Revis, Devin McCourty

Matt Prater and Steven Gostkowski were their two highest graded kickers last season, and they graded neither as Elite.

And that's why I have no problem with none of our guys being listed as elite. They aren't throwing that around a whole lot, it's not like they are just not putting any Cowboys up there to piss people off.

So have we decided yet to give anyone using PFF a one week ban?
It's a joke of a service, but I'm joking about the ban

I don't know about the elite stuff. They could be right, though I think Tyron has to be getting close if not there already.
But just in general, the whole PFF thing can have some massive whiffs.

It's all subjective, just like anything.

What does Elite mean? My assumption is it means Top 5 in the league.

If so, Tyron is definitely elite, and so is Bailey. Dez is borderline.

10 out of 11 guys they list on defense are average or less. Ouch. The only above average player, Melton, is returning from a torn ACL.

Dez is top 3 at WR imo... It's very difficult to name 5 WR's better than him.
