I respect Broaddus some of the time, truly. But when he tells me that only in the last year or two has he been learning about analytics...or when he's burpin' on Turpin...I have less regard.
You know you can respect people all of the time yet disagree with them more than half the time.

Broaddus is going to be wrong a lot cuz he puts out so much stinkin’ content. At least most of his comments aren’t rash statements that are made without thought or care.

Regardless of categorizing Brian’s perspectives as being right or wrong, you can tell he puts in a lot of time reviewing tape/information to TRY to distribute pertinent content to you guys. Perhaps his conclusions are flawed at times but his efforts should be respected.

Besides, is he wrong on Turpin? I mean, hasn’t Turpin’s relevance primarily been built by the stubbornness of ST coordinators to NOT give this guy any kicks/ punts to handle? Many Turpin supporters have even commented that KT is not a WR-1, 2, and possibly not even a 3.

I like KT, but can understand the opposition to roster spots being occupied by niche type players, and you can’t deny that Dak & CD would be better served by adding legit WR bodies to the receiver room.

Tell me which of these numbers for Turpin trouble you...or show how he doesn't belong out there as an occasional wide receiver. With the roster we have now he's easily the third best guy.

In your original post you stated, “Not Special, but fine for a 4/5 receiver”. Not really a ringing endorsement, is it? But I get it, with more snaps potentially more production.

I think you nailed a possible issue people can find with Turpin (and it’s not his fault) in your last sentence above. I’m not wrong in stating his primary relevance is as a returner, and a damn good one, but his significance as a receiver on THIS ROSTER is greatly aided by lack of production of the group with the exception of CD.

I like KT. I think he’s exceeded expectations and teams are foolish to kick to him. But, draft TMc and watch KT’s receiving opportunities drastically diminish. If teams wise up and stop kicking to him, those opportunities go away. Hence the questioning of his roster spot. I’m not saying that’s proper perspective, but it’s the easy angle to take when discussing KT.

For the record, as it stands right now on a team with a very poor WR room, you might be selling him short by calling him the 3rd best option.
