remind me who Lewis is again? When you work through the 53, there really isn't much up for grabs.
LB (6) - Lee, Hitchens, Nzeocha, Wilber, Lewis, Gachkar

No I keep dak and showers for this yearIf Dak continues to play well I could easily see us keeping only 2 QB's with Showers going back to the PS
Jackson can cover kickoffs and punts, block on kickoffs and punts, etc.
Elliott and Morris protect Romo. Don't need a third guy. Who was the third guy last year?
Jackson is an emergency RB that plays lots of special teams.
But there's got to be something to the charges. Word is, he never touched the girl. Very different with Hardy, which had multiple other facets to that scenario, not to mention a sordid past.I agree but they're moving forward with the charges which we know a guilty verdict is not necessary for suspension .
Well, I did not know Jackson played all those ST's spots, it's the first I heard of it. also, is he on 1st team ST's now, are played on 2nd team?
McFadden still brings a lot to the team. I need to see it from Jackson. If I see it, then I will admit he deserves that spot.
If he beats out McFadden, then it is because he is one of the top 53. Even though a numbers game is involved there too. as too who provides more team value, a RB or a DB or extra DL.
I really haven't been that impressed with Showers. And with Dak looking like he can handle the load think he's worth taking a risk.
We'll see but with Romo's injury prone recent history it would definitely support carrying 3 but not just because we like Showers that much.
Moore is only expected to be out about half the season so he'd definitely be available down the stretch if needed who we still like more than Showers at this point based on last years performance .
Could be but with 3 players on suspension and already recieving a fine the league is going to be watching closer than normal on the Cowboys itching to suspend another. But there's got to be something to the charges. They're not moving forward with the charges. They're just investigating them as they're obligated to do.
If they find something different, then there's been a whole lot of lying going on.
Nobody seems worried about it in the least.

Smith or Smith (FB)
Wilcox or Frazier
Gachkar or Durant or Morris
Whitehead or Jones
Green or ?
Injuries will answer some of this, but here's the 53 right now as I see it.
QB (3) - Romo, Prescott, Showers
RB (4) - Elliott, Morris, Jackson, Dunbar
FB (1) - R Smith
WR (5) - Bryant, Williams, Beasley, Brice, Whitehead
TE (3) - Witten, Escobar, Swaim
OL (9) - Smith, Free, Martin, Collins, Frederick, Leary, Looney, Frederick, Green
DE (5) - Lawrence, Mayowa, Irving, Tapper, Russell
DT (5) - TCrawford, Thornton, McClain, JCrawford, Collins
LB (6) - Lee, Hitchens, Nzeocha, Wilber, Lewis, Gachkar
CB (5) - Carr, Claiborne, Scandrick, Olatoye, Brown
S (4) - Jones, Church, Heath, Wilcox
K/P (3) - Bailey, Jones, Ladoceour
PS: Jones, Frazier, Morris, Coe, Jenkins, Akunne
Thats speculation on Showers. We've seen Moore with the starters last year and why he was our #2 coming in.If Dak can handle the #2, there's no need for Moore anymore.
Showers would look MUCH better with the ones than he did the other night with the scrub monsters.
McFadden makes the team, Jackson to PS, unless they go one less on the DL
You also have Frederick listed twice. So Jackson does stay, and only 8 OL.
This sounds reasonable.I think the Cowboys will try to sneak Showers to the ps again this year...I doubt any other team would pick him up on waivers. If the first game is any indication, Wilcox may be done. I could see Frazier making this team in Wilcox's stead. Not that he has done a whole lot to suggest he is much better that Wilcox, but I think at this point Wilcox is what he is and that is not good enough. Frazier could develop...and he might not make it past waivers. I don't think the Cowboys will carry a FB this year due to the log-jam at TE, WR and RB. If either of the fullbacks show they can block at some point in preseason, this could change. But for the moment their (the Smith's) best position is Special Team's contributions. Furthermore, due to the suspensions, they will likely also go deeper on DL.

I definitely believe we could retain 3 on active roster but not because we're overwhelmed with Showers potential .
They may very well love Showers. I'm not disputing that.I'm telling you, they LOVE Showers. Romo loves the guy. Showers has a cannon.
Imagine Prescott as the starter and Showers as the backup in a few years. Two similar styles. Wouldn't have to change much if Prescott went down.

No charges have been filed so how exactly are they moving forward with them?I agree but they're moving forward with the charges which we know a guilty verdict is not necessary for suspension .
It's not necessarily a strong point but simply expressing how much our front office likes Dak and Showers. You make a strong point, but relegating Showers to the PS for another year doesn't necessarily prevent this from happening two years from now. Showers would still run our scout team and fill in where he can get in throughout practice week and by next year he will be that much better as a backup QB for Prescott.
The AP wire said they were moving forward with the investigation as reported in our newspaper. No charges have been filed so how exactly are they moving forward with them?

I'm not overly impressed like I was with Dak who looked poised enough to lead us if Romo goes down .
