Notes from OTAs Today

I haven't been keeping up with OTA's - is there any word on how Dak has looked?

Cherry picking games from last year with all the injuries and suspensions just to support your agenda I see.

And I see you're up to your usual routine of attacking other posters rather than actually contributing to the discussion.

Refute any of the facts that I presented, rather than trying to attack me.

Give it a try, I know strong intellectual debate isn't your strong suit, but if you put some modicum of effort into it, you might surprise yourself.

What were "all the injuries and suspensions" that somehow give the defense a free pass?

If you watched last season you would know. It was well publicized and obvious to the naked eye.

I agree. I will say I am encouraged about the prospect of the defense and feel they can become a much better group than they have been. I have no doubt if you asked Sean Lee about how the defense played last season he would not be satisfied with their play. While they have done some good things there is ample room for improvement and hopefully building towards a championship defense.

I hope your pet cat comes through. Call me a doubting Thomas but I hope you're right. This team can sorely use someone's to step up at that 1 technique position.
Jihad is officially my pet cat. If somehow he can be an above-average 1T, we'd be so solid on the DL.

Jihad Ward continues to be difficult for Connor Williams to have to deal with. Williams has issues when he misses with his hands, and this causes him to have to lean on Ward in order to slow down his charge. The great equalizer for Williams is that he’s such an athlete that if he gets overextended, he can still recover and not many linemen can do th

That's nice but I'll wait to see Ward actually play other than a bum before I call it a good trade. The Raiders thought so little of his big potential that they traded him for a "return man/little used WR".

I'm not saying it can't happen. I'm saying comments from Bryan friggin Broaddus in June shouldn't mean anything.

The Raiders switched to a 3/4 after Wards rookie year. It's why they made the move. He's better suited in the 4/3 and played well as a rookie. Struggled in the new scheme in year 2. And DL will always take precedence over a return man. The problem is it is June and no one can control that. This is all the news we have for a few months. Doesn't mean Ward should be in the hall of fame. Means the offseason workouts are the only thing happening right now and the news is positive for a 24 year old lineman who could possibly be a very good fit here.

It's usually a pretty fair assessment of practice. I know it's only June and the news can be fluff at times, but this is when you work your way on the field. Getting noticed in June certainly helps heading into camp. Where those competitions will be and whose getting 1st, 2nd and 3rd team reps.. Shorts or not. They don't just wing it come August. That plan starts much earlier. Players are earning those reps right now.
