Nothing has changed

Bwahaha....of course. I had us losing by 1.

You've got to be careful about that kind of enthusiasm. I had Dallas not scoring ... so I feel pretty good about the offense. ;)

As I've mentioned elsewhere, what's frustrating about yesterday's game isn't that we lost to the Patriots. It's the reasons we lost to the Patriots.

Yeah, one loss itself isn't really the issue. You never want to lose, but every team blows a game sometimes. It's more that it's just another example of the same failures that have plagued the Cowboys for the entire Garrett era, and everyone is just sick of that crap.

Plus this game was very winnable. The Patriot got their LT back, but were missing 2 out of their top 3 receivers. Bad weather should have been an equalizer in the favor of the ground-and-pound game with Zeke, not the Patriots and their #30 in yards per attempt and #24 in total yards run game. Instead Sony Michel got more 4th quarter carries than Zeke by a wide margin, somehow.

I saw the same, and thought that was strange....little did I know.

Did anyone really think we were going to win? Vegas had us losing. We've never beaten Brady. NE has won 23 consecutive games at home. We haven't won any game against an opponent with a winning record thus far.

We were expected to lose. We did. Move on.
I did, I predicted the Cowboys would win and if the weather hadn't been in their favor, I still think they had a good chance to win that game. They're wounded at WR and their OL is not what it used to be, they will need homefield if they're going back to the Big Dance.

GMO, they stood toe to toe with them and if not for mistakes might have even won that game. There is no team more comfortable and prepared for conditions like that than Belichick's club and when did that "dome teams out in the elements" stop being applicable.

I am not making excuses for them, I am proud of how they fought against the conditions, the best home team in the league and questionable ref calls. They have nothing to hang their heads about. I get the Jets fallout but not this.

I will accept that when the time comes but a team leading it's division doesn't suck. Not as good as the tier 1 teams but they don't suck...except based on some fans' expectations.

All off season, I kept seeing how this D was going to be special, Richard was the D guru and every young player was going to improve and I never bought into that. But, this is not a bad team, it is a good team, just not as good as several others in the NFC.
it is a horribly coached team. the team does not suck. it's head coach does. and finally, the gm is beginning to realize this to the point even his mule headed stubbornness can no longer deny it.

I know most are disappointed in that loss but let's take into consideration the Cowboys were playing in the toughest house in the league in Patriots' conditions against the #1 D in the league and need I remind you of what usually happens when the #1 O meets the #1 D? Why are the Niners and Pats on top?

They have a 1.5 game lead over the Eagles, who looked exactly as I thought they would yesterday against a SEA team not playing their best game. As they usually don't traveling east and playing the early game.

Now, if you are one of those that think this Cowboys team is in the top tier of the NFC, that's on you. They're a tier 2 team but they're one of the better ones and should win a home playoff game and could win a division game if they catch the right match up.

Well, actually, one thing has changed with the GM calling into question the coaching, talk about late to the party. There is a very good reason why the smart GM's don't grant interviews after a tough loss and you got to see and hear exactly why. Once again, the players are off the hook, the coaches lost that game.

The Cowboys control their own destiny and stop this hand wringing over the rest of the schedule, it's all right there in front of them for the taking. If they can't handle BUF, CHI, LAR and PHL then why would you care about them in the playoffs? Think they'd handle SF, SEA, NO, GB or MIN if they can't take care of business over the next 4 games?

The best thing that can happen for this team and it's season is a must win game in PHL to take the East. They're going to have to prove it on the road and I can't think of a better place to see that happen than in that city with those fans and a win or go home playoff type game.

One of the benefits of that game yesterday was a rehearsal for rough conditions in hostile stadiums in CHI and PHL, both game s they will probably have to win to win the East.

The team was outcoached by the best in the game with the one of the two best D's in the game, by design. They left nothing in the locker room and do have legit questions about those two tripping calls and while I am sure they're disappointed, there's no quit in them. They're going to come back strong with a short rest and take care of business on Turkey Day and send the Bills home with discarded wing bones.
You should have titled this post " My pathetic excuses for why we lost."

So if you're content with losing to good teams, then why even bother to play?
At some point this team has to take the next step and win a meaningful game against a great team.

When Garrett took over, he did change the atmosphere. We started winning late season games vs good teams. He was a bit of a gambler. He was never a great coach but I always felt he gave us a chance compared to Wade.
Now, I feel like we have 2010 Wade Phillips all over again.
Jason Garrett's time has come to an end.

domed stadiums are for the fans comfort. not for the teams. jimmy moved us away from Oxnard and into the heat of texas for training camp. the end result was we won. jerry moved us back to the soft ocean breezes and temperate climate and we became soft and lose with the regularity of a german train station schedule.

And nothing will change either.
I seriously have my doubts anything will change after the season.
Well, I thought Marinelli would be the sacrifice this season but I think O'Quinn has moved into that spot.

I was all in on Garrett not going anywhere but I am not so sure after this game and that tidbit about the Giants surfacing before this game. When Booger found out Johnson was talking to JAX, that's when the wheels came off.

I've asked this several times since this question of Garrett not being extended comes up, how do we know he even wants to stay? His GM called out the coaching, which is never done openly, and now he has to sit at the coaches' table with Booger and one of the coaches called out. And we don't even know if O'Quinn is a Garrett hire.

I am amazed that I can still remain a fan of this dysfunctional and embarrassing circus with the owner as the main clown. Getting harder and harder.

The one thing they couldn't do was turn the ball over.....what happened?

Did you catch Gronkowski's contrast between Belichick and Booger at the half? He made those guys really nervous because they try to walk a fine line and not piss that clown off because he is vindictive. I am sure they all have orders that owners are off limits and even when Irsay got caught driving drunk with coke, they played that down just as they did Kraft at the Happy Hands Massage Parlor.

Yep, said that with my prediction, that D thrives on turnovers and the offense is as good as it gets on turning them into points. Got 10 yesterday.

I can give you 6 million reasons garrett wants to stay.

i'm glad gronk said what he did. got a good chuckle out of it. amazing how they tried to cover up the myles garrett incident saying in the heat of the game you don't even know you're doing it. what a crock.

Oh my God....these posts! These “rational” posts are just cathartic nonsense. Some of you people need a shrink. This team sucks...accept it!
It seems more likely that someone who feels the need to shout at others for not freaking out is the one who may need a shrink.

O'Quinn was an assistant coach on offense I believe for years. I think he started out as a quality control coach. Which means one of his duties was to get the game films ready for review.
He was promoted from within to ST's coach. Which at the time he earned it working his way up. Or seemed to earn it. But then it was apparent he was in over his head, but nothing was done. I guess Jerry's theory of a coach in training was still in effect.

He can get that in NY. I agree that is the reason he has been staying and in order to change teams, the other team would have to give up two 1sts and that wasn't going to happen.

I have wondered from the beginning of this last off season, which party doesn't want Garrett to be in Dallas more? Can you imagine working for that incompetent and his loud mouth? Garrett can make the money elsewhere and he hasn't looked like a happy man in Dallas. You could see that on his face in All or Nothing when Booger made his "hands off Elliott" announcement.

I think as a person he has affection for Booger and the family but that can just go so far. Garrett has spent his entire HC career doing what Parcells described as "keeping Booger from his tendencies" and that's like spending time with an addict and trying to keep them straight. After a while, you're exhausted.

I am intrigued to see Garrett coach somewhere else. What if he's successful? What does that say about the head clown?
